Well, if the rest of the car is clean, and there's no other major problems, sounds like a good deal.

I second that, go for it. Good price . Just check into insurance rates and what a motor will cost you. If you did some reasearch on this car you can get a basic rebuild or port it .but you will need additional parts if you port it, for reliabilty.Costs of a new motor would still put you at what a rx7 is going for,but you'll have a new motor. I tell you what, make sure you have extra money for repairs. I've had mine for 4 years and always something is acting up. This is my daily driver, and it's left me stranded alot. For weeks sometimes. I had to buy a motorcycle so i can atleast go to work, with out hassling friends for a ride. Hope there's a good mechanic around your area. Just giving my 2 cent. if you didn't already know it, The return of driving a rx7 is the best, when everything is right. It's a love hate relation ship, and it will nickel and dime you. Look for potential problems in car.( boost patterns) I've had bad luck with mine, but there's people here that leave them stock and don't have to many problems. Good luck, price sounds right. Ask seller many questions.

If you know a mechanic that knows 3rd Gen RX-7's. That's the problem, there aren't that many around.

Where are you located?

Sounds like a good deal if all it really needs is a new motor.

Yeah, I'd pick it up, you may even be able to get him to go for 6.5 or 6k.
