ON Looking of pics or descriptions of a base/R1 rear interior

Hi,

So the FD I bought was missing the rear carpet, the divider and spare tire. The PO had removed and gotten rid of all of it to install a custom base box. I am busily looking for used replacements, but have never seen the interior of a complste FD, so I have not point of reference for what the parts look like. I have acquired a spare tire.

Questions:

- how is the rear cargo carpet held in place? Is it attached to the floor up by the bins? I see screw holes up there. Is the a metal or plastic strip I need to get if I find a carpet?

- What does the hardware that holds the spare in place look like? Is there just a bolt of sometype, or are there washers too?

- there is a threaded hole in the floor just ahead of the spare tire; what's it for?

- is the cargo carpet just carpet, or is there sound insulation attached to it too? I have seen a fibre piece on ebay for touring models that I think goes under the carpet on top of the spare; is there a similar piece for base/R1s that's bigger (no Bose speaker) or is it the same part?

Verbal descriptions or pictures much appreciated.

Thanks.

Perhaps leaning towards a rear seat conversion is in the cards. Being a Canadian, JDM FD's are common and easy to find someone tearing one down. Check Kijiji. Also, alberta and BC craigslist and kijiji too.

i'll take some pics of mine today and post them up. It's a stock R1 that hasn't been molested.

FYI for others who may find this -

The spare tire is held in with a large slotted washer and a wing nut. The carpet is held to the back of the storage bins with about 5 push-in plastic fasteners. There is also a cardboard-ish fuzzy panel over the spare tire that evens out the dips around the spare.

If you need rear carpet for your car, IIRC it is a different size (larger) than carpet from a touring/PEP model due to lack of the BOSE system. Ask before buying.
Also the side panel just behind the seats are different for the same reason. The non-BOSE models have speaker covers for speakers that normally would be mounted on brackets there. The BOSE equipped cars didn't have speakers in that location.
If the PO removed everything you may need the brackets for speakers too.
