Looking for info on radiators/ASTs
I live in the midwest and will be putting the car up for the winter soon. During the down time I was thinking about upgrading the cooling system...Aluminum AST and larger radiator. I have a 93 R1 w/58K. Basically stock except downpipe, Hi-flow cat and Greddy SP sport muffler. I'm looking for some feedback on the larger radiators. I want something that will actually IMPROVE cooling but will fit where the stock one was. Although most vendors/manufacturers claim that their radiators will do both, I've heard some stories to the contrary. Any suggestions/help is appreciated.
Also, I just read on another thread about a "header wrap" would this also help cooling?
BTW, I'm new to the forum so if I'm asking something really stupid... go easy. Please

The stock radiator, with ample air supply, cools just fine. However, the main reason to change out the stock radiator is add one that is all aluminum. The stock one has plastic end tanks that tend to get old and crack from the excessive under-hood temperatures. Same thing with the AST. Replacing these two items with aluminum ones is really just an attempt at bulletproofing problem areas rather than making better cooling.
The Fluidyne, while a little more expensive, is a direct replacement. Koyo, while cheaper, some people have had install problems. How bad were the install problems? One man's floor is another man's ceiling... What I mean is the problems some people enountered may seem like nothing to other people.
