Looking for driver side headlight cover replacement!

Ive done some searching, and i found that i can only really buy an unpainted headlight cover. I plan on getting my car painted, but not until next year, so im looking for something a little different. I then came to the conclusion that I would get a vented one, but i can only find them for the passenger side. So if you guys have any ideas on what i should do in my situation.... I know for sure i want to stick with the pop-ups... thx-Eric

If you can't wait until you're going to get the car repainted, find someone on the FS forum with a car the same color as yours who's parting out their car.

If you can't find a used one and you need it taken care of now, then you'll have to buy a new one and get it color matched to your current paint. The covers are only like $60 from Ray.

I doubt it would cost more than $100-150 to get the cover painted. Granted, its extra work when you get the whole car painted since it will get "repainted" but it's that big of a deal.

I would rather have a primer out headlight cover than wiring problems

mine flew off on the freeway and I ordered one from the dealership for 80 bucks but found out i coulda got one cheaper from Ray. I primered and painted mine for about 12 bucks. advance auto parts have primer and actual mazda colors, ie: brilliant black, vintage red...etc.

Ok so the exposed wires could be damaged by the water? That was basically one of my main concerns.. I also didnt want to get just the headlight cover painted when i plan on getting the car painted later.. but if its what needs to be done, it needs to be done.

Yeah, just get one, get it painted, and install it. Damage to wiring IMHO is secondary - it's a crime to be driving around a nice car like an FD with a missing headlight cover! I had mine come off on a trip recently, and the car sat in the garage until I could do something about it.

Even if you get a new one and spray paint it yourself, it's better than nothing. It should be really cheap for a body shop to spray it, BTW.

Hey guys I'm new to the forum so if you don't mind me asking who "ray" is? I need to get a hold of the driver side headlight covers too. Mine broke off as I was driving my car back after buying it....seemed like a bad sign to me

Call Ray Crowe at Malloy Mazda 703-490-8170. My cover was $76.00 shipped and I just got an estimate from the body shop today that it would cost $80.00 to paint it.
