looking for this cover thingy....

I am not sure how this thing disappeared, but it did. In the picture, I have the little hatch hole covered with black tape. This is on the passenger side of the car, there is a similar one on the driver's side, I assume the one on the driver's side might be for rear window washer fluid(?). Anyway, I went to the Mazda dealer today and in his microfiche this isn't even shown, just the large rear panel these hatches and cover are in.

If anyone has one of these from a salvage or knows where to hook me up, please pm me.

Thanks!

Those pop-in covers are considered part of the bigger panel. The cover is tied to the panel by a short piece of string and the string usually pops loose over time.

As for the tire shine, it will work - for a day. Or maybe a few months. But black plastic like that always fades quickly back to where it was unless you actually paint it.

Back to black by mothers will restore it for weeks at a time. But like someone said you have to paint it for longevity.

The camera flash is probably making it look more faded than it really is....

Thanks, guys.

Yeah, the flash made that black look almost white, there's a layer of dust that really reflected the strobe. The car hasn't spent a day outside in the 11+ years that I've had it....lol!

I have the part number of the whole rh panel, it is FD01 51 17x, with P-PR DA7217 RH under that.
I think I'll call Ray and see if he can get that panel. If not, I'll definitely get with one of you guys that have these hatch-doors.

Question: What the hell is the purpose of the RH hatch?
