Don't worry, be happy. Der sparkin' plug is a window to the soul of the rotary. it's all good.

If rotorheads (in general) would spend more time reading plugs and less time worrying about what oil they should be using and what their stupid rice a/f gauges are reading (yes, every ******* ONE OF THEM) there would be no blown engines on this forum. Auto mechanics 101 - but wtf...it's too easy!

(sorry, not picking on you specifically.....well, maybe - I have not had a good rant in a long time, think I'll go have a good cry now)

these look a little darker, but also the one that came from the rear rotor has a few little bubles on it, you can see them if you look closelly on teh pic, its the plug on the right. those are not the signs of detonation though and are not pieces of aluminum, it is the build up since i can scrape it off with my finger nail.
They look - worn out - as in not efficient. Throw in some new plats, run it a few hundred miles and see how they look then. I've never gotten more than 5K miles out my plugs until they started to look shabby, and about 1500 miles before the oil starts to change color. I do spend a lot of money on plugs, oil and filters, but like the old commercial says:

"it's cheaper to change your oil than your engine"

Everyone forgets how really dirty rotaries are in this age of super-lev vehicles like my wife's new 2002 CRV. You're not supposed to change the break in oil until 4,000 miles - honest! (I can't stand it.........I feel like I'm ruining a new engine........)

We ARE burning oil after all..........kinda like some of my
old 70's two stroke crotch rockets!
