Angry Local rotary shop screwed me over big time!

https://www.rx7club.com/south-rx-7-forum-34/gabriel-gonzales-rotary-performance-plus-screwed-me-long-355360/

I'm just trying to get the word out. I hope I'm not outside the forum rules by posting this thread, mods, but this turd completely fucked up my FD and I'll be damned if he's going to do it to someone else.

Thanks,

Vic

Hope everything works out for you. I know how it is to get screwed by a shop for a lot of money. Not a good feeling.

You have to go back to his shop one last time to get your car.. so here's what you do.

Ask him for the money to fix everything. If he doesn't comply follow these steps.
1. Find a tie rod or something about a foot long
2. Get a battery... since your hood is probably off anyway
3. Get some jumpercables.

Kick the crap outta him.. shove the rod up his ***. Clamp the cables onto the rod and the battery. Ask one more time. If he says no.. touch the other cable to his *****.

Repeat as necessary

Wow. Just wow. As others have said, you need to get the car outa there. Whether to sue.... you could get a judgement but it's worthless if the looser doesn't have any assests. Then you'd still be without the money to get your car fixed AND the cost of the legal action. Anyway, I sure hope the schmuck gets what he deserves. Personally I like Quadulus' ^ idea best. Good luck.

That's why I do all my own work on anything. If I can't do it, then it doesn't need to be done.

you want my $0.02 on this???

First ask the mods to delete all your threads about this
why you may ask??
Since nothing has been proven in a court yet all this is "public defamation" which is something I think his buisness can turn around and sue you for..(not a lawyer just a sysadmin but i think thats an actual legit thing)

Second, log and date everything in a notebook. As good as you can try to remember dates times when phone calls were made, to whom you spoke to what excuse you got...

Third, At this point do not deal with the shop until you speak to a lawyer.

Fourth, Get a lawyer , even if your only going to small claims court (lawyers not allowed) you can still consult one.

I hate "shops" like this. But let me be the first to say, if someone told me they were going to pull, rebuild, and reinstall the stock engine including seq sys of a FD for $2300 I would run like hell. You cant trust someone that works that cheap, they reason they work so cheap is because they have no pride in thier craftmanship (and it shows via lack of craftsmanship).

With an envoronment like that I wouldnt even let him build my engine, much less keep my car and do all the labor.

A good engine rebuild alone should have cost you that much.

I do feel sorry for you though. Its ashame to see someone get paid to destroy a car that way. To be honest I doubt you'll ever get anything out of him, he probably doesnt have much of anything to take and your not going to be able to shut him down cause he doesnt even have a ligit business, he's really just doing work on the side in his personal name. Id imagine the best you can hope for is maybe getting a paycheck garneshment from his regular job, unless he had insurance......but thats doubtfull. Pray that he did have a corporation setup that he can say he was doing this work under......if so that will suck bigtime.

Good luck
Stephen

Thanks for the advice. I've already done all of these (with the exception of the log and date because I'm having a hard time matching dates due to the fact that he's made up excuses and never returned my calls).

No need to delete the post. The forum is for everyone to post about their experiences and thier opinions of what happened. You can't be sued for anything on this forum as nobody can prove that it was "you" who wrote it, plus the forum rules state that "These are opinions of people" so take them at face value. I belive the guy got screwed. He gave a very detailed depiction of what happened.

I posted on the origional thread and will post here. It sounds like is business practices are about as crummy as his work. With his general shadyness and poor record keeping, I doubt he has been very honest with the IRS. Im sure they would love to look over his tax returns again. *hint hint* to any of you in the govt sector
