Question Limp Mode from OMP wiring?

Since my OMP wires were cut by a busted belt (the three wire side), Now I am in Limp Mode for the first time ever.

Just wondering if there is anyway to trick the ECU into thinking the OMP is ok. the main wires are in tact, but the three on the same side are gone.

Have an OMP coming, so I will eventually get it changed out, just trying to keep her on the road in the meantime.

Error codes are 11 and 13 AND for some reason the Coolant Buzzer is on even though the coolant level is fine -- is this somehow connected?

All things occurred just when the belt broke and cut those OMP wires.

thanks for any insight

AFIK you can not fool the ECU to think the OMP is working because it does a sweep of the servo motor and checks for a change in resistance. I would not run the car without the OMP.

You can just replace the wires on the OMP because they just unplug from it.

You would have to plug in a working omp and hang it somewhere. I've seen it done before as a temporary fix before someone was able to replace the omp properly. I don't recommend it. Otherwise you could get a Power FC and or other standalone (which you will want to at some point anyway) and premix. The omp will default to base injection without computer control. Or you could remove it and block it off entirely. But yea, I don't know of a way to fool the computer with resistors or anything. Definitely don't drive the car like that.

My car was in limp mode too when i deleted the OMP and was running the stock ecu. I had to plug in my OMP and dangle it until my power fc showed up.

Inspect your coolant level sensor, the wire is likely damaged if your getting a light on your dash. I want to say its the sensor located on the coolant fill neck. (single wire).

Thanks.

OMP is on the way, but it might be more than I can manage for the install. IF so, I might try your hang idea until I can get someone to help.

thanks

OMP is a small PITA to R & R with the engine in the car, but it's doable.
Not sure why the coolant buzzer is going off, but the wire for the sensor is there in the area and would have been exposed to a flailing broken belt. And where the wire inserts into the sensor can get kind of 'iffy'. If you haven't already, be sure to check your trigger wheel and CAS for any damage too.

Sensor buzzer -- found a broken connector and repaired, that stopped the buzzer.

Plugged the new OMP in, hung it on the strut brace as a couple of people had suggested and reset the cpu. Car came out of Limp Mode and no CELs.

Now just have to permanently install the OMP (I hope).

thanks for the inputs
