Light white smoke-behind UIM

Newbie question here . . . .
Today i was driving the car for about a hour running errands. I do my routine (pop the hood on the 25mph road, park and let her cool down for 4 mins, open hood) and i see light white smoke coming from behind the UIM. It didn't smell like exhaust or like there was anything burning . . . . should i be worried? What could be emmiting this light white smoke? I heard coolant smells sweet and burns thick, i know what exhaust smells like, any suggestions on where to look? Thanks -Clayton

Cooling system pressure test while cold. Get under the car and watch for leaks. Or where ever you have to look.

Then pull your y pipe and intake pipes to see if you have oil in them.

Other then that, it could be engine oil on the tranny burning off and that is where it exits at a stop.

Take a good hard look around while the car is cold and hot to see if you have oil leaks that could be getting on anything.

But it does sound like oil not coolant. Find the small leak.

Yes, it's most likely oil.

BTW, you need to resize that picture in your sig. 400x300 is the largest allowed.

If you have the stock y-pipe, make sure the clamps on the coupling are not loose. Oil can blow by there during boost and drip on to your DP or exhaust manifold.

Just stop using oil all together and then you won't have to worry about anything! Stock twin and intake setup? Vacuum line job done? Any block off plates?

Check turbos, too

Unfortunately when your turbos go out they can also leak oil, usually starts gradually and manifests as little puffs of white smoke that come up right between the UIM and firewall as small oil drops onto the dp or turbo manifold/dp. The other suggestions up to this point are also possibles. You just have to get in there and look around.

sounds to me like one of the oil lines going over the engine block is leaking.. or maybe the coolant line to the throttle body. you'll have to pull off the UIM to know for sure.

I don't think my motor is bad .... PLEASE don't say anything like bye-bye motor It was compression tested at above 8 on each rotor before i bought the car 2 months ago. I'm going to pull off the UIM to install some grounds a la Damian's grounding chart. I'm thinking about doing this next weekend so i'll know for sure. Thanks guys -Clayton.

EDIT: I was looking around "The Stock Y-pipe" and i see a small amount of oil on the connection of the pipe and the plastic connector piece. Could that be it?
