Lexus RC-F

I know this is not the area for this but our forum does not have a specific sections for other cars, anyway I just saw the new Lexus coupe on TV. I look at the specs and it look good. I know for sure i am getting tired turning wrenches as i am getting older, and I know majrotiy of the old school getting up there in age which lead me to two question. Do you think it's worth getting into something new for change if you don't race? And if you buy one would you leave the 7 community?

For a bit more I would much prefer the M4, the reviews on the RC-F are quite underwhelming. I haven't owned a FD in several years but still enjoy being intertwined into the community.

They might have something better in the works: Lexus to build production version of the LF-LC concept | Evo

This one, not so much (for me, anyway): Lexus RC F review, prices and specs | Evo

I'm holding out for the Infiniti version of the GTR / the souped up sedan that has the drivetrain. Who knows if it'll ever happen though.

May be a good alternative to a g37, camaro SS, mustang 5.0, S5 or 335is/435i coupe but not a comparable replacement to an FD. I think you would have to go Cayman S if you want to come close to replicating the FD driving experience. But yes, as I get older I find it worthwhile to own a newer reliable sporty car as well. Ive had a g35 coupe and 335i coupe and will likely get a m235i or a cpo 335is next, FD isnt going anywhere tho.

I just drove the RCF this weekend at the Phoenix International Auto Show. It was really nice and decently quick but it wouldn't be a replacement for my RX7.

4000+ pounds will never be able to replace the 7, no matter how much power is added.

The RCF is a textbook partsbin exercise, totally overpriced, just-another-grand-tourer-sportscar-wannabe.

You can only leave the 7 community when you die...and even then it's not certain.

Cool car but not enough power for its weight and expensive. If I was to get something in that class I would look into a pre-owned Audi RS5, or a BMW M3/M4. If you really want performance a used Nissan GT-R.

RCF is a better DD compared to the M4. Hop onto clublexus.com forums and read up. I have an ISF as my DD personally.

I thought it was an interesting car until I saw the weight.

Too heavy and the exterior styling is not to my liking -- front end looks like Darth Vader. I do like the big NA V8 engine, however.

I dig what you saying dude, as matter fact my friend trying to sell me his 2010 GTR, I took him to ENZO to get tune and it's making 675 whp the car is monster to drive. Again we all gonna endup modding it and then stuff will break. Maybe i am trying to stay on a straight path that's why i looking at it.

Your username is Rx7aholic... Can you really see yourself getting rid of your RX7? A Lexus isn't going to taste the same.
