FB vs. 300zx Rematch + death by Lexus (moral victory)
So I had a rematch with the 85 na Z w/ intake and no cat the other night. I got a slight lead on the launch and a slight jump on the shift to second, pulled about a half car at the top of second, and in third I pulled away easily. The car feels so much better now with an exhaust.
Then Today I was following my friend to his house and he was driving his daddy's '01 Lexus LS430. We pulled up next to each other at a light and he started revving like crazy. When the light turned green both of us took off with very little wheelspin. I couldn't believe it but I stayed right with him until third gear around 60 mph when he started to pull away. I was pretty proud of the FB. He let me drive the lexus afterwards and when I started it I couldnt even tell it had an engine in it, it was ridiculously quiet and smooth. It felt pretty quick once you wait for the 1-2 second lag for it to shift when you floor it from a roll. After basking in his frigid A/C and supple leather seats, it almost made me wish I had working A/C in my car and didn't have to sweat my ***** off. It was an interesting comparison to drive the cars back to back, my car feels faster but the lexus just IS faster.
Lexus Ls430 = 290 hp 320lb/ft, 5 speed auto, about 4100 lbs, 0-60 6.6 sec, 1/4 mile 15.0 sec
