It was built from a early US car for demonstration /show purposes only - note the lack of a serial# on the VIN plate (all 0's!) it belongs to MAZDA R&D in Irvine. There was lots of discusion of that car in the SEVENSTOCK section.

Built to look like the Spirit R ... just from the looks or actually top-to-bottom? Those sneaky R&D guys ... just like the one-of-a-kind Chaste White FD. Bastids!

Mostly, looks but did have the 17" wheels and Bigger 99spec brakes - but sill only had a single oil cooler. The guages were NOT Spirit R guages - The 0 point on the Spirit R (& all 99+ ?) Tach is straight down at the 6 o'clock position - not at the 8 o'clock position like the 93-99 cars

The PEARLIE WHITE car belongs to MAZDA Corporate not the R&D center, I beleive it is the one they had hanging in the exhibit at the DETROIT auto show last year. CHASTE WHITE is a standard RX-7 (fd) color (since 94)

Oops. My bad ... that's what I get for logging on late .. as usual. I thought R&D was the last place that the pearly white FD was seen? Ah well, whatever.

The steering wheel ... I'm thinking it's just the standard wheel as seen on all the new Protege's and Miata's. Retrofit-able on the '93-95 RX-7's?
