Leaky Oil Lines
After noticing some light smoke coming out from under the car while not moving at stop lights and in traffic, I checked under the car and found things to be coated in oil. I popped the hood and from what it looks like, there's oil that's been leaking from around the filter seat. I'm not sure if the filter is prone to leak if not enough torque has been applied to it, but if anyone else has had a similar leak, let me know what it turned out to be. There are also several oil return lines attached there. If it turns out to be one of them I'll probably replace them with some Earl's goodies. And on that note, what size/length hose should I be getting and which fittings?

If the hoses are leaking replace the copper 0 -rings first as that will save you a ton of money . If the rubber lines are leaking then you may want the Earls goodies .

The oil filter pedetal has two little rubber o-rings under the filter that are notorious for leaking. Not difficult or expensive to change, just remove the top of the pedestal and replace them.

those answers sound about right. From my last glance into the engine bay, it looked like oil was slowly leaking out from the the oil filter seat. I won't have time until Sunday to get to them, but if I need these pieces, where's the best place to get them? Dealer? What about specs on which Earl's lines/fittings? I know there's someone who's changed these out before...ahem....gmonsen...?
