I have a 1993 Mazda Rx7 with the following mods and recent maintenance.

Rebuilt motor less than 1000 miles
New fuel filter
New plugs
New wires
Power FC
Apexi Intake
Downpipe and Catback Exhaust and High Flow Cat
AEM Water Meth Injection
Innovate Wideband

I have recently been having problems starting the car after it has sat for 10 or 15 minutes cold or hot doesn't matter. I don't see any visual signs of fuel leakage, I believe it may be leaking into the motor causing the engine to flood. I did a copression check last November and 105PSI. The car runs great pulls great. It will restart immediatly after I turn it off. It only has problems if I try within 10 to 30 mins. If it sits overnight it will start back up.

I did a fuel pressure test today per the FSM and at idle it is 30PSI which is in spec. When I shut it down it goes down immediatly to 28.5PSI and after a few minutes it is 27PSI.

Am I thinking right here? Or is there something else I should be looking at?

I do have access to a dataloggit and I tried removing some fuel from the map and the water correction table, it seemed to help but the problem still persists. I am new to tuning and I am a member of the PFC tuning group.

 

Keep playing with it, you'll figure it out. Maybe do a tune up on ignition components.

Am I missing a section in the tuning software that will help or am I looking in the right place tweaking the map and water temp correction table.

 

Try pulling some fuel out of the water temp correction tables. I find most cars have way too much fuel there, especially around 30C. Try taking it out a few points a time until the car starts/idles better cold. It will really help if you have a wideband so you can view the A/F as the car is warming up. You may also have to play with the cranking injector time.

 

How big of an adjustment are we looking at doing? .1? Also I do have a wideband what AFR should I be looking at on startup?
