Lightbulb Lazer Cut Center Guage Pod Console Project.... Any Interests???

Hi~~~
I am currently trying to try out a project for people who wants to install 52mm Guages in their center dash console... and I've seen some hacked up work which looks not too clean for my eyes.... So I have been Lazer cutting some clear acrylic various sizes to see it will work or not....
If things go well... I will probably sell it for cheap since we all love RX7's and wanna help out each other...hehehe.
These are some prototype models.. and I live in Cali...Glendale. And I want some people to test these out if it fits or not.... I'll give them away if they fit correctly.. so you won't have to pay.. but I need a FD to test it out...
I don't want to use it in my car because I want the interior looking stock as possible....

So... PM me if you are near my area and if you want to test these out....
Here are some pics~~~

Those are pretty cool... I'd test em out for ya, but I'm not near Cali... Although if you know of any good jobs down there, let me know! I'd move out there in a second.

I think those are the hands of his spokesmodel. "Vanna, show them the three-guage model"

Those look good! How will they mount? Could you make one with only 2 holes and the rest of the space left?

I could be interested in some...lemme know how the consensus is and I'll throw in some dough...i won't be in your area to help you test them unfortunately but i'm all for supporting someone who's doing work on their own for the rx

These are prototypes so I used acrylic to see through the details I need to know when installing them. However I can use any kind of material black plastics or red plastics...or any plastics except metal...
And yes I can lazer engrave an efini logo if you are using the two guage face... three guage face has too much a tight space to place any logos....

Thats what Im talkin about! Looks like it was from the factory. Very clean look. I would have painted it black though to make it really look stock.

Do you have any pics of the project?

Thanks, no project pix, I didn't have a digi-cam than, (2 years ago), It's just a piece of plexy glass cut, glued on w/epoxy glue, sanded and painted, that's it... no bondo or anything.

RotaryWhat?
That looks very nice and neat,

Man that is a great job and such nice craftmanship you have.... wow.
I'm trying to make these for people who can't really do all that great work... cutting, sanding, bondoing, painting...whatever.... mine is just a plug and play kinda concept.

I have someone volunteering for the test so I will post how it will come out and show some pics. However My catch for this is to sell individuality lazer engraved names or logos... I will show some pics of that as well..... hehehehe...
Stay tuned....

Thanks for the kind words. I spent a lot of time doing it----my first experience with fiberglass and bondo, and I have no ambition to work with that stuff ever again.

akiratdk,

Those laser cuts look really good-----how do you plan on mounting the the gauge panel in the DIN opening when its done though? I would think that if you could figure out how to get an adjustable clip on these, you would have a lot more potential for more than just RX-7 members wanting these.......

The gauge holder looks good.

Years ago, I made one of these...but I made it out of wood. Covered it with vinyl and mounted with velcro tape. It worked and still works fine.

that is the best comment i have read all week

in anycase, perhaps you might wanna etch some stuff on to the surface and then use colored led's to have them light up. (its just an idea that popped in to my head and i think it would turn out pretty nice)

Hmmm what are the prices you're looking at akiratdk?

I really don't expect a high price due to a laser just cuting 2 or 3 circles in a piece of plastic .
