Late Summer FD pics (including AST change)

hey all... I just went over to the park this weekend, and took some pics before fall rolls through. I also just completed my aluminum AST install. Thanks to all that helped. Wasn't that bad. Who wants a spare AST??? I might keep it till the Aluminum one busts in half

Enjoy.

thanks bro... if you look closely at the engine bay though, there's a lot of crud that I haven't gotten around to cleaning yet. I gotta get in there with a toothbrush... just haven't had the time (nor the patience). Also, I've seen someone else on the forum here with a WAY cleaner engine bay. Can't remember who it was. Oh, and yes, the paint is original... a lot of tender love and care

Thanks!!! A lot of Simple Green and elbow grease. The plastic pieces I use 3M vinyl cleaner (after simple green, that is). It works wonders!!! Trust me... it brings old plastic, rubber, vinyl, back to life. Says so right on the bottle

Just a heads up on the simple green cleaning stuff, and the purple power too.....it will eat away at your aluminium. If you spray it on wash, wash, wash. It will soften powder coating as well. Car looks awsome ! ! ! !

Really? I did not know that... I have used it on the underside of the hood as well. It's gets cruddy there too. I'll be sure to keep that in mind.

thanks everyone... paint is all original, 13 years old So I guess to answer your question, Mazda did the paint

I do plan on repainting the mirrors and spoiler next year. Anyone else notice some slight, slight oxidation/fading around those areas? It seems the plastic pieces fade, but the metal parts don't... weird.
