Swap right and left upper brackets, maybe a little trimming on them is required. If you have a bench grinder or a dremel then no problem there. Then on the passenger side of the radiator a little trimming of the radiator itself may be required. I did one that even required removal of the bumper so I could cut out a bit of the fiberglass sub structure. Even that wasnt too bad, still only took a couple hours.

Fitting Koyo Rad

I did mine a couple of weeks ago----no trimming of radiator required, some plastic trimmed off on top shroud, adjusted bottom bracket on front stab mounts.Since the car did not have a factory radiator I made the top brackets.
Pictures attached.

Vertical install

Vertical install was a bit tight, but the battery cover went on without modification,as did the I/C.The airbox, with my version of the CB mod,I shimmed
I shimmed up at front mount point by about 3/8in,which cleared the airbox from the rad hose and allows fitment of factory air snorkel.
So it looks stockexcept for the Greddy stuff.

I don't have a picture with the air box on because I am waitng for my Efini Y pipe to come back from BNR.Just as a matter of interest the air pump outlet pipe fitment is tough with the standard Y pipe but I think will be fine with the hard pipe version.

i had to trim a lot of fiberglass structure of the front bumper as well as minor grinding away of the metal sides that held the fiberglass.

it was a pain.....ive read how some peoples were almost a bolt in...but mine was definitly not that way.

you must have misunderstood.

i meant a vertical install of the radiator. you presently are showing me a v-mount install. i am looking for the kind of install you do when the rad accompany's a front mount.

Just curious as to what you guys modified to fit the Koyo other than the shroud. I've gotten the old one out, but seem to be having a few issues getting the Koyo in. At a certain angle the rubber mounts go properly into the holes of the lower radiator brace/support but it's more upright that running parallel with the AC and the top part of the radiator isn't really going downwards towards the mounting bolts that run across the top...haven't really seen it snagged on anything...I'm thinking the radiator brack that the rubber insets slid into will just have to be bent since it's probably wedging the front part of the radiator against the curved/support part of the mounting points. Just curious in what whay and how people might have modified or bent theirs...gotta get the car back together today and just looking for a tip or trick before I get creative caveman style. Thanks again.

Two years later... I had to remove my fans because the stock intercooler doesn't fit. What is the final best solution?

Thanks!

Huh? Your stock IC doesn't fit with the Koyo? If so you did something wrong obviously, it should be in the stock mounting position/angle, not standing up straight if you were reading the previous posts and got confused.

After I finished installing mine I had the same problem, hood wouldn't close, airbox and intercooler were running out of space.

By flipping the front brackets I could lower the rad enough so everything fits now.

Good luck!!!

Thanks for your responses,

Everything will be okay only by flipping the front brackets? Seems to easy!
