I just got a Koyo Radiator in the other day which didnt come with any kind of installation manual. I emailed that guy that I got it from and they dont have an installation manual either(which I thought was weird). So what im tryin to find out is if anyone has one or if anyone knows anyone that has one if they would be so kind as to fill me in on anything that needs to be relocated or if anything needs to be removed or what. Any info would be helpful.

 

it's pretty straiight foward. after looking at the pix i took during my install It looks like you'll need to remove the battery and tray, intercooler, ducting and piping, let the ast dangle and that was all I had to get out of the way. but at the time I had an aftermarket smic, and intake. there really isn't much too it. If there is something in your way remove it

 

Cool...I have an after market intercooler as well, so I already have all the stock piping and plastic **** out. Ill just rip **** out and hope for the best. Thanks man.

but no i wouldnt do that i would try to remove as little as possible to install it.

 

It's a stock replacement radiator.

There's nothing different abou the installation for it than there would be for any other stock replacement radiator, or the stock radiator.

 

Hey sorry to drop in on your thread and what not but im gettin a fluidyne soon and i dont wanna pay someone to throw it in for me my question if no one minds me askin and could help me out here is is it a simple enoughthing just remove things in the way unplug hose and hook up the new rad up? what about those fans? my mechanic experiences is im 19 and ive swap a few altenators out of my 68 mustang shocks on it too...removes throttle body and uim and all that nonsense on top of the engine and replaced ignition coils spark plugs and wires and some other nonsense anyone know if the radiator would be any more difficult than dealin with the rats nest and its gang of *** munch rodants on top of the engine?

Yes, but it is a bit thicker than the stock rad.

There are some minor issues with the lower mounts, and getting everything to fit just right, but IIRC this only requires a pair of pliers to bend the lower mounts (the mounts on the sway bar brackets)

I think I had to remove the rubber grommets as well. That reminds me that I should find suitable replacements for mine.

Does your koyo rad have a bleeder in the top? If not, it can be tough to get all the air out. Newer koyo's do have this I believe. Mine did not, and Pineapple Racing installed on for me.

 

i had one put in it fits in the stock position with the stock brackets... it fits right over the ac condensor thingy. no modifications necessary. i think youll need to do whats said above take the intercooler out the intake box and stuff that also looks to be in the way of getting the radiator out and in.

 

use the hose at the top of the engine to bleed out air.. you dont have to do it at the radiator.

 

I put my Koyo Radiator in and it took alot more time than I thought it would.
Alot thicker than the stock rad.Start early or have plenty of light
my batt. tray was hitting my fans. So check that before you bolt everything up.

I had to shim the stock intercooler shroud up with washers. It's a tight fit, but can be done.
