koyo and fan clearnace problems!
I've had my Koyo radiator installed for like 6 months now and I only just recently realized that my driver's side fan motor is dead. What I think happened was that the Koyo is so thick that even tho it sits as far down as it can possibly sit without cutting plastic, it still pushes everything so high that the fan blades must have started hitting the stock intercooler duct and killed the fan motor. Anyone here have the Koyo with a stock intercooler setup? What did you guys do to get the fan blade to clear the intercooler duct? I've searched but no one seems to have had this same problem as me or at least hasn't found out that their driver's side fan is dead yet.

If you look at the pic u can see that the top of the Koyo radiator is already making contact w/ the black plastic piece on the bumper... so it doesn't seem like it's going to side down much lower unless I cut that piece.

Man it is a bitch to do w/ stock intercooler..Had to do cutting to the intercooler air intake, and cut a circle in the fan bracket to fit the ac bottle back in place. also put a riser in the front fuse box to bolt it properly.Good excuse to get a new intercooler!!
i think this has been asked before but are there any aftermarket fan replacements for the fd that will work better than the stock ones? my search was fairly inconclusive... someone mentioned some by FAL and Black Magic but there isn't much info on them.

Since I'm going to do this job in a few hours, i'm glad this is all coming out. I have a digital camera and can take pictures if anyone is interested. Based on this discussion, I bought a dremmel tool
(and some extra beer j/k ).
Did you guys need soemthing to seal around the radiator. Sounds like a "press fit" anyway. I bought some 3/8" automotive weather strip and ofcourse I have duct tape. I'm not holding my breath for high temp weather strip (I saw some epdm weather strip at OSH listed as high temp. It had a whopping 140F temp which it remained flexible. Whooppy **** ).
Hey my car is running now but I'm planning to fix that
