Knock readings on new engine
Can anyone help? Ive just finished running in my new engine and thought i would try it out a little,so iput my foot down from 3k but as soon as second turbo came in the knock meter on the pfc flashed up to 81.The reason i am concerned is because on the old engine it never happened under boost. Please help._ps my mods are mild street port, fpr and pump, fmic, hks intake,dp,mp,catback and power fc on base mod map plus suganuma fuel map, timing not changed.

The timing on the base map is probably too aggressive for a street-ported engine. You are going to need to get the PFC dyno tuned, find a map closer to your set-up (not really that safe), or purchase a wideband O2 sensor and tune it yourself.
What conditions do the knock readings occur? Under vacuum, under boost, under high boost? What are your normal readings?
Don't risk that new engine.

I was only on 75% throttle at 10psi and the light flashed at around 5-5500 rpm, about 10 mins before i pulled away from the lights quite a bit harder in 1st and 2nd and peak knock was only 21 up to 7k rpm. When the knock light flashed the injectors were at 58% so i wasnt driving very hard .

I was just catching up on a few threads as it appears that some people are using a PFC map i used to run and posted a few years ago. this map was pre-programmed by SR motorsports for my mods at the time. I don't run that map or EMS anymore so i can't critique it very well. I just wanted to come back and make sure it was known where the maps originated from. Looking back, I would check over the map before really getting on it. IIRC, it was pretty rich and somewhat conservative in the ignition, but i don't want to put my name behind it whether the results are good or bad since i did not create the map in the first place and honestly dont remember how good or bad it ran.
