600!!!???? for 600 ill take 3 !!! are you sure thats correct? and for the FD CAT? thats only 100 more than the regular ceramic HF cats.....

this thing is said to flow as well as a midpipe if im remembering correctly. would we need a new ECU? or a boost controller?

anyway for 600 im in for 2 at least! i have a few friends who may be interested too. id be willing to be a test subject (i live in CA and would be willing to roll it on the smog dyno, and a regular dyno to see what this thing can really do). also, i am in the process of building a 20b FD so that would be a good test platform for longevity since the heat would be much higher........ -heath

I did the foreign currency exchange calculation with this
http://www.xe.com/ucc/

It just returned
66,000 yen = $598.90

The Yen is dropping against the dollar.
I think I will call Corksport tomorrow to see if I can get one.

I spoke to Derek at Corksport.
He has sold one Knightport metal cat previously.
He didn't have the exact price but he thought that it was around $425.
He is going to get an exact price for me on Monday which I will post.
I can't do a group buy since it wouldn't be approved by the powers that be. But if a few of us place an order, the price may come down.

sheizen, for $425, i might have to pot for one now too... would i need a boost controller or a ported wastegate to run this safely if it really flows that much? are they set up to work with air-pumps? do they need one? will i pass emissions again? will donna ever tell jams how she feels about him sleeping with her mother now that her aunt is having her brothers baby? (sorry couldn't resist, full of questions, sounded like the end of a bad soap opera)

yes they are supposed to be set up for an airpump (or there is a block off plate that it should come w/ if you dont have the air pump). i cant say how well it scrubs the air, but from what i hear it should work better than ceramic.

im assuming you will need whatever it takes to run a midpipe (to be safe) if the flow really is that good

at that price im seriously in for 2 of them , lets GB this baby! i wish someone had one that they had some data on so we wouldnt be buying these things sight unseen. if the "powers at be" want us to go through all kinds of BS for a group buy then jason from rx7club.com should run it himself since thats where the money would end up! jason do you have any connections to knightsport? -heath

I finally got a price from Derek at Corksport.
As it turns out it is more than what he thought he sold it for.
The price for a "standard" Knightsports metal cat is $589 plus shipping from Corksport.
Apprently there is a "pro" version which is another $150 more but apparently it flows better according to him.
I am sorry to have inflated everyone's hopes by saying that it may be around $425.
But the price of $589 is closer to the advertised price in the ad that was posted before in this thread.
He will give either free shipping or a $10-20 discount if many people order from him.

well its not 425... but that is still only 89 bucks more than any other HF cat.... and if we get enough people we get free shipping (so subtract whatever shipping pettit, or whoever charges for theirs)... plus from the looks of it the build quality is excellent. come on people who wants one???

oh yeah, im still waiting for a price from jason at rx7store... maybe he can beat that price?? hint hint -heath

I was looking at the ad that was posted above.
I noticed that there are two versions of the cat for the FD: E and GF
The prices are the same. I wonder what the difference is.

I'm interested as well, is the $589ish price for the entire cat section for FD3S or is it just the cat and we'll need to have an exhaust shop do the rest of the piping?

Knightsports isnt that liberal with discounts, so really all companies are going to have about the same price on their behalf.

SHORT THREAD STEAL.
I getting a pumpless cat newly made here, that doesnt require the airpump to be connected, and its legal. Im just curious on these. Any input?

The price is for a Knightsport cat which is a plug and play for an FD.
