Knights V mount inter/rad?

I know the debate about the SMIC vs FMIC. . .heatsoak. . .blockage of airflow. . .(much search and research) etc, yet no one has bung up Knights Sports V-mount method. Would that, in essence, cure the airflow/heatsoak debate? Is anyone running this setup?

In a way, wouldnt the "V" mount solve both woes from fmic and smic, since it is located in the opening of the front end, as well as being v shaped, so both intercooler and radiator get enough air? I didnt find any matches on this (bc i cant search V alone, and mount, and knights sports just brought up millions of matches). Any input on it?

i think it's because of the $3k price tag that comes along with it... i think it's a pretty effective setup, if you look at a lot of the jgtc rx-7s in japan, quite a few of them run similar setups.

i've been thinking about this type of setup a lot too...

does anyone have any pictures of the Knight, or a similiar setup? I didn't know that knight made a system like this. i've seen pics of a rally impreza that made me start to think about that kind of setup. i was thinking it wouldn't be TOO hard to fab some brackets out of aluminun stock. granted, it would take a long time and a lot of planning, but it is possible.

once again, if anyone has pics, please post.

JT-imports has a picture of the part on the web page.
Actually Panspeed runs almost the same set-up on their car.. Little pricey though...

I love Panspeed stuff

I'd get the V mount Panspeed if I could get a good price. Although it looks like it's made for a single turbo and not my twin

I just don't like the idea of standing my radiator up and making the engine look like a normal pisston engine.

Damn it Canman, go BUY a new scanner. These guys have got to see the V-mount from panspeed/knightsports. Its awesome looking and looks like it would really work, but for $3000...I think I can fab my own for that price!!!

Hey Jason, if you send me whatever you want scanned, I'll scan them for you and email you the pictures, then mail everything back to you. I'm thinking of ordering something else relatively small from you real soon, so you could send them with that. Shoot me a PM or an email if you want to do that.

It's been dicussed before. Try searching for horizontal mount intercooler. I was looking into the V-mount and the SR Horizontal Mount IC(discontinued). I believe that this type of set-up is common in Japan from what I hear. And works too.
