Knight Sports V-Mount Installation Write-Up

I just finished installing a Knight Sports v-mount kit. The write-up is here.

Thanks to Alberto (gracer7-rx7) for help with wrenching and many install tips.

Any chance of making this into a PDF file, and making full size scans of your ducting?

this would help MASSIVELY for those who are looking to get the KS Kit

There are lots of web sites that will convert a web page to PDF, e.g., http://pdfcrowd.com/. I will probably add more details to this write-up over the next week so I would not generate a PDF until you are ready to use it.

I thought about making a template with measurements for the ducting but the tolerances are simply too tight so the project ended up being well beyond my drafting skills. The approach of using a cardboard section and cutting to fit works well - and the resulting ducting will likely fit best with whatever bumper configuration that you have. Even with what I though was an accurate cardboard template, I made dozens of minor modifications to the aluminum panel during fitting. This is trial-and-error work with lots of cut hands and cursing.

Sorry - missed this question. I will take a look this evening. This is certainly not one of the the larger v-mount intercoolers.

The core is 6.5x26x40cm. Certainly not as big as my old M2/ASP large but is dramatically outperforming it in my informal tests.

The link in the original posting broke a few years ago but I recently reactivated it.

Not much interest in the original posting but I though I'd bump for the the few trying to install this kit (which is still available I think).

oh and one more thing. Whoever wants to save this guide into a PDF just do the following (on Windows PC):

1. Mouse right click on the page
2. From the drop down menu select "Print..."
3. On the print setup screen find "Destination" and press "Change..."
4. Select "Save as PDF" and press "Save"
5. Save the PDF file wherever you want
