Kinda rare part...mazdaspeed rear diffuser

Thanks Ramy for getting me the part.

I have to admit I was a little disappointed with the part. I thought the part was going to be made out of polyurethane or polyfiber. Instead the part is made of what seems like fiberglass. One edge of the part got a little flexed in shipping so it looks like I will have to do a little fix and paint ala Crispy and his hood.

Anyways, it looks simpler to install that the stock piece. I will try to do a test fit this weekend and post follow up pics if I get it done.

sweet grab, nice piece that looks like it will work well with the stock lines and rear mud flaps.

Is it a two piece item?

kinda two piece. That little part is the part that goes on the other side of the muffler. As you can see, the "rails" are asymmetrical. The one seems to bend and follow the stock exhaust.

i see now, its not a piece that goes end to end, it stops at the tow hook. i dont understand though, in the pic of the yellow car it looks like there is also a piece that goes to the body with the tow hook poking through.....

7racer, first off, I'm SUPER happy you *finally finally* got that piece haha. I really appreciate your patience. I owe ya on that one

I do wanna make sure though that I told you it was indeed fiberglass, correct? B/c that's how Mazdaspeed lists it in their item description. If I failed to inform you of this, please let me know (but I coulda sworn I did).

Lastly, I'm glad it got there in one piece (I lost a lot of sleep over that mind you). Such a fragile piece, esp. when you know what goes on behind (Fedex/UPS) closed doors haha. I tried my best to save/salvage the original Mazdaspeed box (as shown) b/c if you're anything like me, even an original box really does it for ya haha Not sure how helpful the instructions will be, but at least they're there. And that Mazdaspeed certificate is to assure ya that this wasn't a BackYardProductions typa part

All the best,
~Ramy
FDNewbie Imports

PS: I know you emailed me; I'll be getting back to ya shortly.

Ramy,

thanks again for getting the parts. I have gotten a couple pms about the cost and where I purchased it so you may need to order some more for other customers.

For some reason in my mind I thought I remember reading it was polyurethane...some how that stuck in my mind. No worries though. It is nice and looks functional.

Could use a layer of paint though!

But again, thanks for the service of supplying us US guys with rare/hard to get parts!!!

Bob

I remember seeing one of these quite a few years ago... As I recall, it is installed OVER the existing plastic valance. What you're seeing in the yellow Mazdaspeed car, is a combination of the two pieces (original plastic valance, and Mazdaspeed diffuser). Unless my memory is failing me, that is....

Nice snag, Bob!

Think you can scan the instructions? I can get a translation for you. Doesn't it seem for some reason that the the design changed a little bit from the original item picture? I was about order one in the next few days, but now am curious now on whether it replaces the rear valence.

7racer,

You beat me to the punch!!! I was hoping to get this piece, along with the front piece, before the season started. Alas, my financial responsibility's got in the way.

I thank you greatly for the pics!!!

I can't wait to see it mounted on the car!

I was kinda worried why they never showed the opposite side of the car. But at least I know now I won't have to drop the exhaust to fit the piece!

FDnewbie,
Now that my funds are starting to get in place, I'm looking at May to order the parts!
So you better get more of these pieces lined up my friend!
I'll also be getting the front diffuser. So you'll be losing alot of sleep! lol

Lates,

Just curious - What is the part number of the part that you have? The surface texture looks different on yours than the one in the Mazdaspeed picture.

Thanks,
Jeff

Sounds good! Do I smell a GB? haha

My bad. I coulda sworn you asked me specifically about that, and I said unfortunately it's only available in glass.

Could use a layer of paint though!
I'm sure it can. It's essentially an unfinished piece.

Rob,

Look at picture one on the instructions...it looks like you cut the valence. I need Aristo for a translation. Hmmm that means I have to cut the carbon fiber one I have.....

Its seems pretty straight foward to me... just follow the visuals... and the numbers you see on the side is the torque spec for the nuts and bolts~~~
I am trying to read the chinese on the way bottom description and I think it means that this product performs its task when around 100km (about 60 miles) is reached....
my 2 cents~~
but sweet stuff ya got there~~~
