Key FOB?

Did '93 FD's come with a remote key FOB to open doors/windows etc or are they old school key only? I could not find the answer in the FAQ.

In Japan a key with a built in lock/unlock button was available for the 1999 cars.

Keyless entry was VERY new in the early '90s, that was a big feature on Lexus at the time .

The '99 optional keyless entry in Japan is VERY expensive, and I don't know of anyone that has figured out how to make it work on a US '93-95 car. Not to mention I don't wanna spend $600 for a system with Japanese instructions and no guarantees it will work .

I don't think that's exactly accurate. The second gen Ford Probe had keyless entry as an option in 92 which is really a clone of the MX6 chassis. As a matter of fact, I think all Ford cars of that year including the Escort, had keyless entry as an option.

It wasn't available from the factory, but some dealers were installing them -- Puente Hills Mazda put a keyless entry system on my car when I bought it in '92.

True, but they don't look nearly as nice as the OEM unit.
