If I had filthy large amounts of money I'd make a different one for each IC instead of having a little angle at the IC input so it works for both. The second batch is being worked on for anyone that didn't make the cut.

I also received mine and test fitted it....I can finally put my strut bar back on!!! However it is touching it pretty tightly.

And thanks Kevin for sending me the missing clamp from the original IC buy.

Touching what pretty tightly? You mean the input tube on the IC I hope because there should be tons of room with the strut tower bar.

umm the airpump friendly pipe with the strut bar....it may be my aftermarket strutbar. When I get back from this business trip I'll post pics

I think if I had the R1 stock bar it would clear without a problem. It did clear with the stock plastic pipe but never the ASP non-airpump friendly pipe.

With the new pipe, this is the first time since the rebuild that I have been able to put it back on. I just may need to make sure the pipe is sitting as low as possible.

Give me tomorrow and I will post some pics.

Wow, nice job on polishing. That really looks pretty when done. How long did it take you?

Thanks, This was my first polish job and it took me about 7 hours to do. However, I probably wasted 2 hours experimenting.

kevin,

here are the "test" fit pictures and you can see the touching of the airpump friendly pipe with the strut bar. It maybe touching because I have new motor mounts and the engine is sitting higher??? None-the-less its a great piece and fits much better than the previous one. It's also a quality piece...now if I can just get rickrx7 to polish it for me, I'll be all set

If you have any suggestions on the fitment let me know. I'm actually more worried about it clearing my CAI (it the old rx7fashion aluminum box)

I designed Kevin's IC pipe. It looks to me like you have a pretty thick strut bar. How thick is it (vertical dimension)?

See if you can try a R1 bar and see how it fits.

What type of motor mounts do you have? I test fit the prototypes on my 93 R1 w/new factory motor mounts and it fit with clearance.

The R1 bar is almost exactly .5" measured with calipers.

I'd guess if you got an R1 bar you'd be happy with the fit.

Yeah, I apparently misunderstood when they told me 2 weeks to complete a batch it only applied to that first one for some reason. They said 5 to 6 weeks for stand alone batches now. That means I should have them shortly, I assume, since the order was a while back.

The second batch arrived today. Anyone that's still waiting for one should have it shipped by tomorrow. There should be more than enough to cover everything in this batch. Sorry about the delay on this second batch.

back! I just got mine from jason at rx7store, it's so much better than the one I'm replacing!! I have one fitment issue though, the airpump nipple is so close to the pipe that I don't have space for the hose! Any suggestions?

If your IC is too far over towards the battery side of the engine bay it'll make that connection to the airpump a little too tight.

a have the large ic and it's lined up perfectly with the duct, if I move it the duct alignment will be off some. I guess a half inch off won't make an impact on performance given the huge core size, right? I'll try it after work today

1/2" sounds like a lot, maybe move it 1/4" or so. If you don't want to do that you could remove the airpump inlet nipple (2 screws hold it to the airpump) and have it rewelded to the flange so it points just a few degrees more to the battery side of the engine bay.
