I feel like the kid that wanted to hang out with the cool crowd and tried to pretend he knew what was being talked about, nodding and laughing along. What am I missing?

Kevin, You are a genius. You cast a pipe with a bend in it. I am completely impressed. -Dave S. Clair

I don't get your comment.

Can you cast a pipe with a bend in it? If so then do it, maybe you could make some other cast part instead of the pipe? Maybe you could show us something you can make/sell for the FD, not just for your car but something you can make in quatities of 200 or so.

Put up or shut up.

It actually wouldn't be too bad to just make a copy of an existing part, just money. I have a strange feeling that someone has no clue what's really involved in doing this from scratch though. FDM Titans aren't something people have in their garage and I'll have to confess I have no idea how to use ProE. Don't try to belittle Jeff and make an *** of yourself in the process by thinking you know something you don't. Once you have to make it from thin air it becomes a pretty big project.

Those dorks at Mazda made a box with four wheels and a motor, I'm real impressed : P

Kevin T. Wyum

P.S. The reason I didn't get it was I've had him on my ignore list for over a year it seems.

Im sorry Jeff. I think this is a load of crap. I can get over 200 pipes cast If I wanted. There is a plce right down the road that will make anything you like, all you do is hand them a prototype and they can pour them. Not as though it is hard to make the prototype either. I am also not going to start congratulating Kevin because he has the casting facility at his disposal. Does that make him original? I just don't see what all the fuss is about. If you guys are all thrilled about an air pump friendly pipe then sorry. I'll leave you guys to your party. I persnally don't see the huge demand for the pipe nor do I care that Kevin was able to make one. So can anyone who has the means. It's not rocket science.

One big dummy is right. No wonder I've had you on ignore for so long. Time to go back whence you came. If I remember correctly you're the guy I caught making things up and lying about intercoolers before I put you on ignore. Glad to see people don't change heh.

damn, **** off the wrong people and bam, your gone. I'm glad this is the more mature forum that is moderated and not some 14-20 year old forum that uses it to try hook up and also needs a porno link to draw people in. Sorry you got booted, but it was coming with remarks like that. As far as signing his full name, what's the big deal? I like it better than the 3 to 5 inch long sigs people create to list every mod they have, down to the radiator cap and boost gauge...whoopee.

Back to the topic. Coming up with a air pump friendly pump must be a big deal, uh, since no one has gotten it completely right yet. I'm getting one and glad Kevin had them made. As for demand, 20 to 30 pipes maybe more will be sold. Not a huge demand, BUT all things considered, I'm thankful Kevin made them for such a small group of people....not for his ego or pride (which it seems you might have a problem with I guess), but because he saw it was needed.

Anything that starts with "all you have to do" oversimplifies the problem and generally shows the lack of understanding of the design and manufacturing process.

1. You have to DESIGN the prototype.
2. You have to spend time/money to MAKE the prototype.
3. You have to test the prototype.
4. Then you have to PAY someone to make a pattern/mold and then PAY them for the parts.

THe one thing your right about, it is not rocket science.

Again, PUT UP OR SHUT UP. If it is so easy then just design, prototype, test and manufacture something yourself and sell it. Four simple steps, that is all you have to do, simple as that.

Okay since a number of people wanted to just use credit cards I actually read up a little on the paypal accounts and changed mine over to a merchant account so people can use credit cards. If you emailed me and I told you to send a check and you'd rather use a credit card feel free to use credit cards with paypal to KTWyum@ASPScreening.com or aspi@winternet.com. I may set up a rudimentary website for some of the racing stuff. If the air pump pipe makes it past break even in a reasonble time I might be looking at making a couple other cast parts, namely an improved flow throttle body elbow. Along the lines of the GReddy elbow but without the big ridge inside and maybe an AWS nipple that can be capped or something. We'll see.

Also keep in mind the air pump pipes will be available from Jason at the RX7 Store for the same prices.

Is there any performance gain with this pipe over the M2 S curve pipe or is it just for better clearance?

I don't have a sample of the M2 version to comment on it but notwithstanding some horrid bends, which I don't believe exist on the M2 part, they should function in a pretty similar manner. In that case it would be more of a fits properly thing and if polished looks better without the welds.

Minor update, foundry said they are expecting to complete them before the 31st so...

Skulk, on the other side of that there should actually be a performance gain for any application that's using the OEM crossover tube and changes to this new version as a large number of bends will be eliminated.

I do have one request for people that emailed me or sent PM's that decided to send checks, please email and confirm if you sent a payment because of the big lag in holiday mail I don't want to hold pipes for an extended period if people didn't actually order : ).

KTWyum@ASPScreening.com

Thanks
