Keep Breaking Bolts
Everytime I work on my car I break a bolt. I snap the head right off. So Im wondering if anybody else has the same problem. Easy jobs turn in to a pain in the @ss. Im starting to think my car has been sitting near an ocean. I bought a new oil cooler. Ha the lines are rusted in my old one. So im afraid to mess with it cause I know something is going to break. The car has no rust other than bolts a few other stupid little things. Is this a common prob with RX7s.

What kind of bolts are you breaking? The only ones that I ever break (on this car or on other cars I've owned) are exhaust bolts. And sometimes those tiny bolts that hold plastic covers on (like fender well covers).

Well my all time favorite was a rear brake caliper bolt. A/C Condeser bracket bolts, Bolt that holds the battery tray down, there is one more but im not sure what to call it. I know there is a couple more but i cant think of them at the moment. But all this happend in like the last 2 weeks. Maybe its just bad luck I dont know.

WD40 & Blow tourch. the kind with propane canister. works like a charm.
If you have a 4 foot cheater bar and it still will not break loose, you know it is time to try something else.

When you start breaking bolts you switch to cutting everything off with a sawzall/torch.. lol
j/k I haven't had any problems breaking bolts except for the ones that hold the heat sheilding on the stock turbos.

just the thought of snapping a head off a bolt just sends shivers...
luckly nothing snaped on me, on none of the cars i've worked on *knock on wood*
I tend to drench any bolt I remove with wd-40 or liquid wrench, and slap on a coat of anti-seize compound when I replace it, but I always end up getting anti seize all over my tools.. oooooh silvery
