cant remember, but I think you use 2 to 3 quarts.

I'll tell you the way to do it though, take out the top cap (the filler cap) and put oiil in from there. Once oil starts dripping out of that same hole, your done, thats where the oil lvl should be.

Just so you know, differential oil has possibly the worst smell imaginable, and any clothing you expose to the oil will be ruined permantantly. When I change fluid on my diff, I strip down to a pair of boxers I dont care about because it always seems to get messy for me since I dont have a pump or any good equipment to get under in that shitty as spot.

but yea, fill to the filler hole and screw it shut

i gag when i smell diff oil

i think the capacity is 1.8 quarts. i think i remember reading in the manual that you fill the top hole until it starts pouring out of the axle holes. that's what i did at least and it's been fine for about 10k miles. the jug of kaaz fluid that i got was 2 quarts and it took almost all of it, so i'd assume that's right, check the service manual at www.iluvmyrx7.com and double check

Not the axle holes, the top hole.

I'm pretty sure it's 1.6, it says in the owners manual.

Change it every 1500 miles????? You must mean 15k. I do it about every 6 months.

Actually the Kaaz manual calls for the change after break in(figure 8s for an hour) then after 3K KM then every 1500Km after that. I just fill mine with Amsoil 80W140 and throw 4 oz of GM diff additive(helps a ton with the chatter/clunking.) Otherwise you'll be spending $75 or so every change with the Kaaz oil(it is just gear oil, no additives in it or anything, just their name on it so they can make the claim to use their fluid) I change mine about every 6 months also. With over 15K miles on it so far no problems.

I'm also thinking of going the Amsoil with GM additive route after breaking it in with the kaaz (since I already have a can).

make sure you do the proper figure eight break in initially..

and when I had my 240, it clunked untill I did some mad doughnuts the ones where your driving while the wheels are spin spin spinnin away...

afer that, the diff never clunked, honest to god. even when it was cold. i had the 1.5 way

No rattling or clunking... sweet... damn I need to change the oil here in a few... I used 2/3 of a Kaaz can for mine.
