i think that they can just withstand more horsepower. im not sure if they provide anymore traction or not but i would guess that they do since they're not 10 years behind.

the KAAZ LSD will give you insane amounts of traction (ask ErnieT...he'll tell ya. ) it will also withstand more power and harder launches as opposed to the stock Torsen unit. but it is originally not made for drag racing. all drift cars in Japan have upgraded LSDs, either from KAAZ or Cusco. im assuming it will make drifting/taking tight corners easier, but dont quote me on that.

KAAZ is a clutch type LSD which can hold a lot more power. The problem is that clutches do wear out. If you do a lot of street driving you gotta rebuild it every year. Also you have to replave the LSD fluid every 4k miles.

I've never heard of the Kaaz wearing out. I have over 12k on mine and its as strong as it was new. You do, however have to change the diff. oil every 3k or so. Only takes a few minutes to do.
The Kaaz is a great upgrade for your FD especially if you drag race. The stock diff. will be destroyed after a couple good wheel hops. The Kaaz plain just hooks up. I've launched at over 7k with slicks and had no problems.
If you don't do much drag racing or have a high horsepowered car, then its not really needed.

They run around $700-800. And No, I wouldn't recommend you doing it yourself. You have to take the whole pumpkin out of your rear. Not exactly easy for the do it yourselfer.

I have about 30-35 runs on the stock rear with a 4.33 upgrade.
So far so good launching at 3500-4000 w/drag radials. I have heard some guys run slicks w/stock rear
and they last?
Anyway I have heard nothing but good things about the kaaz carrier unit.
What I am wondering is what will go first on me this year if anything the axles or rear diff?
Tough choice kaaz rear about 700,drag axles about 700 ????
I hear different opinions.....

I have heard that if you blow the stock Torsen you destroy your whole pumpkin. If you are into drag racing I would suggest switching to a Kaaz before you blow your stock rear, unless you have a spare one laying around.

the KAAZ diff/RP Axle combo is strong enough to get you well into the 9s, but i heard Ari is snapping 350M chromoly axles left and right.

I blew the stock Torsen dragging. Yes, it was because of wheel hop. The final drive was also stripped. I replaced the whole thing with a 1.5 Kaaz LSD and a 4.33 final drive. In my opinion, I wish i got another Torsen unit, less chatter, less noise, less to worry about. Since i don't drag anymore. It's all about road racing!
Oh yeah, I also took out the diff case myself. It is a bitch, but i saved myself 400 bucks in labor.
