Just wondering??? Just read pls
Ok I go out to races alot here in Miami before I was taking my 85 monte SS but now I got my 93 FD. My question is simple can i beat an M3 (2001-2002 M3's are 330HP and 3500lbs). I will list my mods and the mods of the fastest M3 there.
1993 RX 7 (5 Speed)
Street Ported Motor (new 2000 miles)
Stock Rebuilt Turbo's (1000 Miles)
Rebuilt Tranny with better Clutch (2000 miles).
Intake
Downpipe
Sparkplugs (if that counts )
M3 2002
Pulleys
Intake
Exhaust
Just wondering??? Thanks and about how much horsepower would he need to beat me ??? Or I need to beat him???

There's a simple equation that may take you closer to your answer.
(vehicle weight)/(vehicle HP). The lower the number the better the power to weight ratio the vehicle has. The vehicle with the lower number between the two should have the advantage.

Hmmmm that would require me jumping on a dyno since im not to sure on horsepower on my end. Also torque and gearing plays alot too which is why any info on M3 gearing would be nice. I know their torque blows even for an inline 6.

If you nail the launch, you will hang with him until about 80 mph or so and then you will start to lose. This is assuming you both drive perfectly. In the real world, anything can happen....if he has an SMG tranny and knows how to use it, you are toast.

Like everyone else said, it'll be close and the better driver should win. You should invest some money in an exhaust, since you already have the DP and intake. Good luck dude

Post a video even if you lose...Losing isn't embarrasing because at times it just boils down to who has the most money to dump in their car...What's embarrasing is if you stall on the launch...THAT's embarrasing so don't post that...actually, what the heck, post it! that way you can give everyone a good laugh
