Also for the record it IS a 5 speed.... it would be a waste of a beautiful car if it wasn't!!!
Welcome, nice to see another FD chick in here. It's a nice clean car you have there. Do you work on the car yourself? There is tons to learn on here and most of the guys can be really helpful.
Post pics of your interior once you get a chance.

Lovely white '95 FD!
BTW, I see you live in Gainesville, FL. I graduated from there two years ago. Before I got my FD (after college)...I met this guy name Yanni (his call sign in forum is SNOOK). He has a really nice maroon FD. He has the FEED front end and black-painted stock wheels. The rest was hefty engine mods and street-ported/etc. Only thing I didn't like was the huge, huge Apexi GT spec exhaust...too loud. Took me for a ride couple times...killed a JR supercharged S2000 first night I met him (awesome!). Do you see such an FD around? It's been ages since I last heard from him...not sure if he still has the FD?
Anyhow, great score with the FD.

I'm glad my wife is interested in cars also. She used to drive the FD harder than me sometimes (when it was up and running!). She came home and bragged about gettinga $200 plus ticket for doing 140mph on the way to Canada one weekend (Carabana)!!
Thanks for the enthusiastic welcome everyone! I' m glad there are other girls on here! Like I said, I've done my research, but I know I have A LOT to learn. It looks like I've found the right place.
BTW, I met Yanni tonight, and he's a very nice guy. He used to have an FD about a year ago, but now drives a Vette. I have heard of Jack, but never met him.

My only previous mechanical experience was on an S14 240sx, and that's obviously a lot different. I'm excited to learn and eventually do my own work though.
You know the funny thing? A lot of ppl on here wag their tail about doing their own work. It's almost like a bragging right, as if to make one owner "better" than another. But if you step back and take a look at things, you'll realize something really quickly. Of the guys who do their own work, how many of them have problem-free reliable FD's?
Hmmm....
My point, one of the MAJOR reasons the FD got such a bad rap for being unreliable was the very high maintenance cost, which led many owners to try and cut costs (and hence corners) and do the work themselves. You have full fleged Mazda Mechanics - some of which are VERY talented - who are absolutely *lost* when working on rotaries, esp. FDs. That should tell ya something. So when ppl start getting creative and trying to do things wayy past their expertise on their own, the crap hits the ceiling pretty darn fast.
So in short, it's great to work on your own car, but *within your own limits*. I'm not ashamed for a SECOND to say I paid for one of the best shops in the nation to work on my car several times... Sure I did a few simple installs, diagnoses and repairs (along w/ the help and guidance of friends and forum members), but knowing your limitations is key. And I gotta tell ya, when you do that, you'll have a MUCH more reliable and enjoyable FD in the long run. I know I have...

PS: It's funny, cuz there was a thread in this section discussing this very same fact not too long ago, and pretty much all the guys who had prob-free FD's said the same thing...
