Just realized my car has been lightly hit...

I wondered WHY last night, when I came home and shut off my lights that the right one hung up and POPPED as it went down. That has never happened before. So I went out this morning and started checking things out, turns out the nose of my car has been lightly hit, the damage is almost imperceptible but it is enough that it has pushed the urethane bumper back JUST enough to catch the headlamp bucket.
In order to get them it to work right, I had to stand in the transmission cooler duct and jump up and down a bit, to pull it away just enough to avoid contact.

Kind of sucks.

Yeah, it does, but you're lucky it wasn't worse. How does it look now that you've "fixed" it?

Yes it does suck. This one drunk guy did the same thing to my car about a year ago after a night out at a club. Did some research and found out who he was and also found his car with the fresh white paint scrape from my car...long story short, his car got fked up and he never went to that club again....Haha

So you got the guy with your paint on his car?

I would have called the cops and made him fix my car.

Cops wouldnt do anything because that is not enough proof. I live on a small island with a population of 50k. Everyone knows everybody and everything. No one even steals cars here because everyone would know who did it.

So yeah, I got the guy.

Dave

There is a slight 'inwards bump' that has caused an increased gap in the seam between the bumper and fender, it used to be about .030 wide and uniform, now it has expanded to about .100 wide, also there are some small cracks in the paint now at an area that is pushed out slightly....not bad and hardly noticeable, and hey...the car has 16 years of road rash anyway.

It is just the idea that someone will do this, look around furtively over their shoulder, determine no one saw them, and go on. Hell, I have left notes on cars when I had the wind catch my door and dent a car parked next to me, and of the times I have done this, the only thing that has ever happened is I get a call of thanks from the owner declining the offer to have their car fixed at my expense.
