Just raced STI
K so finally got to race my buddys STI hes car is pretty quick i must say its really nice too!! anywho thought i ask i put about two car lenghts on him, is that about right? Hes bone stock and my mods r smic non seq,downpipe,high flow cat and exhaust! i thought i would walk away from him pretty good but i guess not or maybe sumthin wrong wit my car?

my car is full non sequential, fas as i know just dont have standalone management. ya i have pretty much same mod as your friend! did your friend turn up the boost or anything? My fd is 1993

sorry i meant to say far as i know! another thing i should let you guys know is that my turbos have been smoking a lil thats only if i dont start my car for while or sumtime every now!

That's not entirely true. You just have to make sure you don't boost past the stock levels. As long as you don't go past 10psi, you should be fine. An open exhaust allows for boost creep, however, and that can be bad (leads to going lean, then detonation, then new motor time)

Ya havnt seen My boost go past 10. i had a feeling something was not rite wen i was racing him and was only able to put 2 cars on him from roll. from wat i read alot peeps that raced sti beat them pretty gud wit similer mod as me

true i could go single but right i am just trying to figure out, if theirs somethign wrong wit my engine or the turbos? cuz every1 else have done better wit my similer kind mods against sti

Not really... From a roll will definitely help but doesn't mean you'll just automatically win.
People have a very hard time understanding that the FD just ISN'T that fast. They CAN be, and are very fun to drive... but where they excel is on the TRACK where thay can take advantage of other aspects of driving; not just shifting in a straight line.
Don't beat yourself up about it.
Drop another 10-15K in the car and you'll be up with the times.
