Honestly, I think that red is the worst color for the FD. The other colors are nice, but when I spend the time on my paint people always ask me "what color is that?"
I really like cars that are green, so Montego Blue was something that I wanted.

MB is the most unexpected color out of the FD lineup. The problem with the color is it ages REALLY bad, so upkeep is extremely important. I've gotten nothing but compliments on the color of my FD. Besides, color is just a matter of taste. Just be happy with the FD.
If anyone decides they need to refresh their montego blue exterior i recommend taking one of the greens out of the final mix. The color is mixed from seven other colors and contains two greens. if you remove the pearl green you retain the sparkling green color but from a distance it looks more blue.

I agree, it might not be the worst color ever...BUT it does NOT really fit the FD at all. Easily the best color for the FD is Innocent Blue Mica (God himself holds the paint gun...how can it NOT be good?). White is okay, red...well it's red can't really go wrong there, black is sexy as well, silver not too bad, yelloNO! don't do that. But IBM is the greatest blue ever and just IS the FD.

MB reminds me of allllllllllllllll the miatas and mx-6's with the similar green paint. yuk. if those cars didn't exist, I could dig it. I bought my car w/ factory MB paint, and it is currently being changed to "innocent" blue of the '99 specs I believe. MB can look great on the right car if its in good condition, but it really does make the car just "blend in w/ the crowd" in my opinion.

I have no bad feeling twords MB. Personallu it is a color I like on an FD. I have seen one very ofter here. The way the color change from blue/green/black is quite mysterious to look at.
However I prefer the Black like mine is. Yes it is hard to keep clean but on the other way I really like to keep my 7 as clean as possible always.
Sliver and red are at the bottom of the line for me. Not because of the color but of the tone chosen for the FD both are a bit too light in my opinion.

How can people trash colours? It's personal preference, period. There is no such thing as a bad or good colour. What, do some colours slow the car down??? It's all in the eye of the beholder.

My relationship with my MB FD was love/hate. As it changed with the lighting sometimes I loved the color and sometimes I hated it. The fact that it always changed and I only seemed to "really like" 20% of the colors that appeared was a constant tease. I think my favorite was at night under the mercury lights of a gas station - it was a pure blue color that rocked.
I have no such issues with my BB FD - nothing but amazement everytime I look at it.

It Just Feels Right
Opinions are like ********, so here's mine. All the colors looked good when they were new, but none of them aged well. I think paint technology has improved considerably since then. I never met a black sports car I didn't like. I saw Ray Crowe's in the parking lot at Malloy. Very nice.
Not many cars can look good in yellow, but I think the FD can (haven't seen one in person though).
Red wasn't my first choice, but I'm quite happy with mine. Sitting in the driveway it just screams "Ferrari" and "Drive Me!"

Wishin I Still Had The FD
I'm not a fan of the MB color myself. I personally have a silver FD, and am very happy with the color. It's not as boring as some have mentioned. How can any color on an FD be boring?
