Question just installed new intake, now in limp mode?

first off im sorry for another limp/safe mode post, ive been searching for a couple hours. just helped a buddy put in a SR motorsports style intake, and vented the stock bov this afternoon. fairly simple install, didnt have to touch much in the engine bay. once we went for a test drive the car was instantly in "limp" mode(cant get positive boost pressure). everything looks in place and nothing out of the ordinary(no leaky vac lines, or intake tubes). we cant figure out what would put the ecu in this mode, no vac lines seemed to be pinched, and the car ran perfectly fine before install(no check engine light). we reset the ecu a couple times, and we still get the check engine light now. tomorrow the codes will be ran hopefully to narrow it down, but does anyone have any ideas on what could have caused this?

You did verify that the BOV vacuum line is still attached to the UIM (i.e. didn't bump it off)?

Pull your codes, you're chasing your tail until then. One bent paper clip and 15 seconds and you'll know.

You checked to verify the MAP sensor was connected?

The pressure sensor is on the firewall, above the oil filter. If the electrical connection is disconnected the car will have major issues. That's the primary input for the fuel injection system.

Unplug it, plug it back-in, then clear the ECU codes. Start the car and see if the code comes back.

tried that and its still doing the same thing.
i guess its just coincidence that the boost sensor went out the exact same time the intake was installed? doesnt make much sense...

That's actually a filter, not a check valve...

That's actually a filter for the MAP sensor, not a check valve. If you've replaced it with a check valve, put the filter back on.

Did you clear the codes properly? Disconnect the negative battery terminal, hold the brake pedal down for about 30 seconds, then reconnect.

The MAP sensors are VERY hardy and rarely go out. I'm not sure what you could have done with an intake install that could have goofed it up.

The K&N filters were bought from somebody else and they had done the whole recharge kit on them. Before installing them I noticed they seemed to have a little too much oil, but they went on nonetheless.

When the car was first started after installation it certainly blew a bit of smoke out the tail pipe, and I wondered if maybe it was burning up that K&N air filter lubricant/oil.

Any chance that it could have reached the MAP sensor and fouled it up?

Given the number of FD's with turbos that pass oil through the intercooler, and boost in spite of that, doesn't seem likely.

Mine used to have a nice pool of oil in one of the IC pipes, still boosted.
