Talking Just got my FD!!!!!

What's up everybody!!!!
After two years of research and searching I finally purchased a silver 1993 RX-7 touring model. It is completely stock as of now. I got it from a middle-aged couple that doesn't need it anymore. The car only has 50,877 miles on it! I paid a little more than I should have ($16,000) but the car was in mint condition, purrs like a kitten and I couldn't resist.
I have been a "visitor" to this site for a while now and have acquired a ton of info from searching and reading posts. And to all the members and moderators thanks for an excellent forum.

Congratulations, and welcome to the wonderful world of Wankel!

Sounds like you got a great car, and a pretty good deal for that low mileage.

Post some pics, and research and read as much as you can if you are planning on modding it!

Good luck, and happy rotoring!

Do all the reliability mod. Check for fuel leaks sniff around for gas play it safe. Buy fire extinguisher better safe than totaled from fire.

Have fun I know I did when I found mine. I searched for 4 years for a all stock rebuilt motor new paint.

Here's my mods it was a safe upgrade without going to to far in heavy mods.

M2 Stage 3 upgrades!

Congratulations. I don't think you really paid too much. You might have found one for a little cheaper, but not too much. You generally want to find the ones that are a little higher in price, as they are usually the solid ones.
Good for you.

Thanks for the advice and replies fellas. I plan on taking some pictures this weekend when it warms up and the damn sun comes out so I'll post soon. I know all about the reliabilty mods and plan on getting that stuff done soon. I ordered the boost gauge before I even handed the check to the previous owner.

Just get a Kidde Auto fire extinguisher. It's the perfect size for the bins (or velcroed in the hatch area) and it's a "C-type" for chemical, electrical, or fuel fires. Not too expensive either.

16k is not a lot.

When will people realize you get what you pay for?

i paid 20k for my 1993 CYM R1 in 2001 and it was worth every single penny.

You guys are right about $16,000 not being a lot, because I know now you do get what you pay for. After driving around and feeling the power and with the looks I get it's worth every penny. The car is beautiful and runs like I drove it off the lot yesterday.

Exactly I paid 15,900 for my 94 R2 in superb condition and it is worth every penny and still is. You can't beat the FD price for performance.

I live in Alexandria, VA near Landmark mall. It would be cool to link up with some fellow RX-7 owners in the area. Share stories and what not. Let me know.... Hopefully I'll have some pics this weekend,

$16k was a pretty damn good deal IMO. Yeah, you can find cheaper FDs, but most of them are in pretty shitty condition.
