Congrats... Now search the forum for all the recommended safety upgrades... and do em... it'll greatly extend the life or your baby and You'll be glad you did.

And, whatever you do, DON'T EVER take your FD to Mazda dealer..... or you'll be doing this

Find someone in your area that specializes in FD's if you ever need work!

Just curious, where were you looking for your car? Autotrader? Cars.com? Also, how did you manage to get the owner to get the compression tested?

 

just tell them you want a compression test done or else you wont buy it....i told them i wasnt going to shell out money for a car that might be in need of serious work. i said would you buy it if the engine didnt work? so they did it. anyways most people who are looking to buy an rx7 will ask for a compression test. so its better for a person selling the car to have it handy.
