Put in the ECU now and see what your boost gauge says. If you don't have a boost gauge then you need to get one. That's a lot of mods to do before ECU/EBC.

BTW, I'm hitting 12psi with cb/dp/air filter and M2 ECU. MY SBC I-D is arriving tomorrow.

I wouldn't. Although a higher flowing pump would be a nice mod to make sure the flow stays up and change the fuel filter while your at it.

I don't think its safe to run a midpipe with an m2 ecu

well i installed everything at once... i didnt put on the exhaust until i got the ecu.. i have done all the maint. fuel filter, coolent change, ast, oil , etc... but if 12 is the max then i dont want to push it... how much hp would you estimate with the mods and 12psi? 315? 330? whp

So, what have you done?? far as mods??
If you already put upgraded pump, IC, Intake, you might be ok.. but not going to see much HP gain.. DP and MP you will see better HP gain.. But at the sametime, you will need waste gate ported.. YOU will definitely see spikes.. and boost controller won't help.. others might disagree..
I say with your mods, spend that extra 700 or so and get a PFC and spend another 300-400 getting it tuned.. M2 Stage 3 is not recommended to run full exhaust.. but it does run rich..

I was in the same shoes about a year ago.. And PFC was the best investment I've made.. For some reason, M2 doesn't run or idle as smooth as PFC..
It seems like you have spend some money on your mods, now need to spend some more.. Otherwise, I would recommend running your cat for awhile and keep the boost to 12lbs. save up.. and get pfc..

Generally speaking, these mods @12psi will get rwhp in the low 300s. This of course will depend on the health of the motor, slightly on the type of IC, etc.

There are people that run 14psi on stock fuel systems (with exception of maybe the pump). IMO, if you have a nice, big IC, I wouldn't be afraid to take it up to 14 psi. Dangerous?...maybe. Fun?...Hell yeah

Oh yeah, get that wasegate ported pronto.

M2 doesn't reccomend using a midpipe and say to only run about 12psi.

I suggest throwing everything on, set the boost to 10, jump on a dyno with a/f, and slowly turn up the boost. I wouldn't go any further then 14 even if you're still rich, timing is still a main factor.

FYI to set the Profec, turn both ***** all the way down and slowly increase as needed. The "high boost" setting runs around 3psi more then low boost when at the same setting, ie 12 o clock.

Don't risk it! Call me conservative.. but why would you want to go thru all this trouble if you know you have to get PFC later on..

Don't put your MP.. put the M2.. drive it conservatively.. Change your sparks every 5K or less if you have to.. get a boost controller for safety.. when you have money, get a PFC and get it tuned..

I wouldn't chance it.. new engine is not cheap..

i dont get it, there are a million people on here using the m2 or pettit with a mp, i bought the ecu so i could use a midpipe.... why would i have to get a pfc later on anyway? i am not going to mod anymore then what i have done. btw there is no one around me that could tune a pfc anyway.. i am just going to put it all on and dyno tune as (gsrsol) said.

Depending on your goals, your fine and it seems your happy with what you have or will have (you will always want more.)
but for the most part, you seem to be doing the same thing I did.. Im not trying to achieve 400rwhp or anything like that. I daily drive it and its already running 12's and pushes just enough power that the tires can handle on Hi Speed courses. So Im happy. I didnt want to get into upgrading injectors and all that so I too got the Pettit ECU (unlimited)
and at 300rwhp (12.5psi) Im pretty pleased with the Pettit ECU. The timing is good and I have an extremely safe 10:1 a/f from 4krpms to redline (kept me safe at a closed circuit track pushing WOT almost all day at a safe 8-9psi).. and my a/f will get a bit better when I get my SMIC.
(I/DP/MP/CB/ProfecB..) Non Seq.

like the others said, use the Profec too keep the boost in check, and just know that your pretty much hitting your power wall with what you have on the stock fuel setup.

IMO the Pettit Unlimited is the best chipped ecu out there. I know guys that have been making over 350rwhp on that ecu for a long time.

I ran the M2 ECU for years with M2 medium ic, M2 intake, M2 dp, some midpipe and RB cat-back. I ran 13.2 psi, and got 337 rearwheel hp. Never had a problem. (I switched over to a Bonez hi-flow cat and ran 307 at the wheels. I assumed I was running rich.)

I now have the PFC, but mostly because I have more money than sense, and just got the newest toy on the block.
