Just got another reman... this looks different...

There are two plugged holes above the middle intake ports... and there is a nipple right next to the oil filler hole that is plugged with a rubber plug... any idea what that is?

The nipple next to the oil filler neck means its an older intermediate housing. I see this plug on early '93 engines but not on later cars. Leave it capped off.

Yep, seen it too.

The other holes near the intake ports. Injector holes in the center housing?

87-91, but the housings are all pretty much the same as a 93-95 with the exception of 2 holes you have to fill in(I think on the 87-91 it was a coolant passage) and that thing thats capped off.

I actually did a little research. The plate has n3a1 stamped on it, it is from an early 93.
Thanks

87-88 intermediate housings (I'm not sure about 89-91 but I assume they're similar) have the intake ports about an inch lower than the 93 making it imposible to bolt up to a 93 manifold. So I should hope it's not a 87-91 housing. In the pic the right is the 93 and the left is the 87. I compared these for my rew project to see if I could use the 87 housing in the 93 engine to mount it in the car easier.

My reman also has the nipple next to the oil filler neck. Mazda installed my engine and put a long vacuum hose on the nipple with a check value on the other end of the hose.
