just getting into FD world
Picking an FD up with 73 k on it,
rebuild engine, so its straight as far as that.
I'm pretty familiar with the Financial Catastrophe generation as I owned one,
but was always more fond of the financial disaster generation. so!
It's red, and im picking it up this week....... I've been reading on the forum, but wanted to know , from the stock standpoint, (which it is as far as performance) if you guys had any kind of tips for me to watch out for with this gen. Also I thank you guys in advance for being my source of sanity with this car at those excessive times....

1. READ, READ, and REREAD FAQ threads
2. Compression check to ensure you are starting off with a solid platform
3. Boost gauge
4. Change ALL fluids
5. Change ALL filters
6. Get used to the stock drivability of the car before making any mods
7. Look into a downpipe from a reputable shop
8. USE the SEARCH feature (it works great)!

note : while doing the compression test, make sure you get the car up to operating temperature, as cold compression tests are usually useless
also make sure to :
-change out spark plugs
-spark plug wires (just get the stock NGK ones, banzai-racing has em)
-get a new oem fuel filter
-inspect vacuum lines, since it just had a rebuilt engine, they all should be new, and hopefully replaced with very good silicone vac lines.
-if it has been sitting for a while, good idea to drain the gas tank (there's a drain plug)
-another important one, check the condition of the engine wiring harness, a lot of guys don't replace this when they put in new engines, which is bs!
-ask owner, did the shop determine exactly what caused the old engine to fail, and what steps they took to make sure this problem was fixed.
+ a million other things I can't think of off the top of my head.
Good luck, FD's kick *** when they run.
