Well Mazda is on backorder for some 3rd gen engines right now, lets just in order to fullfill the orders they had mazda japan build a few brand new engines, we just have to add the water pump/oil injectors and a few other external things. I have 10 brand new from Japan engines #N3G1-02-200 sitting by me when I am at work all day, I am backed up on work since we lost a employee in a car accident in november but they should get finished up and 3 are waiting for them already but that does leave 7 for stock. Just figured it would be nice to tell some people when they get there motor if they are on here that its brand new, not a rebuild in anyway. I will probably initial something on it and see if I ever come across it again, maybe around the oil pan area.

Not true, they plan to try to find good parts out of the cores. Personally I think they will scrap them but not yet, we havent touched anything but rx8's so far, I get to do the externals needed on these engines for now before they ship.

Sleepy-Z,

I have read your Rx-8 threads and I would really appreciate any updates you can occasionally bring to these forums. Is your plant going to eventually take over production of all older rotary engines, at least for the US market?

We actually did take over control from cat reman for all rotary engines. Only thing is regarding rx7 engines we absorbed there leftovers, we have about 3-5 rx7 motors of each year as of now so if you were to order one you would still get there motors until we run out...not saying thats a bad thing but I honestly couldn't tell you how people felt about there builds for the rx7 in the past. I still am trying to figure out the fit for the 3rd gens, I need to cut open the boxes and see since I dont have the info off hand to run the part numbers on the brand new ones....in fact I dont even know if there AT or MT yet.

There isn't a difference on the FD motors to the best of my knowledge.
There is on the RX8 to the best of my knowledge.

They are slightly different on the FD. I believe the rear irons are different.

Yeah well the engines come with the flywheels from us, maybe they are not attatched and I have to split them up but I doubt they built them and didnt attatch them considering it might affect the rear oil seal and the freeplay but I dunno yet.

Thanks for the info... do you know if your company ships many engines to the Mazdaspeed Motorsports program? If I knew I could definitely buy a new motor for the price of a rebuild, it would be pretty hard to pass that up.

We are Mazda North America so we ship to all dealerships tied into it, I have only sent engines so far to Mazda dealers in the usa and mazda canada/mexico operations.

I figured it was worth posting because its not often you can actually get a motor assembled in Japan by mazda for a car they no longer make, personally I thought about trying to buy one and maybe finding a rx7 but the way the economy is I am just happy to have a job in the auto industry on the line still.
