I suggest you sell your car to me, or don't touch it until you read the nooby links.

Firstly, RX-7s have a bad rep for blown motors, but they aren't that bad. 3rd gens regularly hit 100k+ and sometimes much more. It depends on how they are treated. Like a high end exotic, ie. porsche, they need proper care. The 2nds gens regularly hit 150k. my car has 133k and its going strong.

If you are worried about the motor, I would first get a full tune up (plugs, wires, oil change), replace the AST with an aluminum one, and get a boost gauge to monitor boost. A new thermostat would help too, they are cheap too. There are other minor things too, but thats all I can think of right now.

If you have questions as a new owner, chances are they have been answered many times. The search feature in the upper right hand corner can be very useful.

Good luck with your new RX-7 , youll love her, they are a lot of fun!

Yea, they will run for a long time as long as u treat them right. At school whenver people hear RX-7, they always say some bullshit about the engine being bad and that it will blow after 50k. Just do the reliability mods and you will have a strong running car.

PS- u still wanna sell it to me

tune your car to a 11:1 A/F ratio with a real wideband/lambda meter and you'll be fine! Also keep your boost undercontrol for a bit more protection!

If you'd like, PM me and we can talk on the phone. In about an hour I can tell you a whole bunch of crap and save you alot of trouble and heartache. I've owned my FD for 4 years and have modded the crapola out of it, learning many expensive lessons in the process.

Hope to hear from ya--
