just blew the diff in my 1999 is there a difference between series 6 7 and 8??
Hey people sadly enough i just blew the diff
not impressed bit anyway....
I am trying to sorce parts at the mo i have done some searching and think that it is a 4.3 : 1 ratio viscous Lsd, is that correct? if so is it the same as the 92 and 94 modles? as in are the parts interchangable with the earlier modles?
Thanks Mark

Some later models have slightly different ratios, IIRC but similar. I would expect you'll find two things:
1) it's cheaper (certainly easier) to buy a good used diff than rebuild one
2) all series of FD fit the same diff, as long as you're talking about m/t models.

I wasnt sure it was the diff to start with thought maybe gear box but after selecting a few different gears and trying to move....... all i get is a grinding noise coming from the diff at the back, havnt pulled anything apart, but pretty sure its the diff
