just been to dyno

Just had my fd on a dyno(dyno dynamics) and wondered if my results are good or not -279.1 rwhp @11 psi stock twins,dp,mp,blitz catback, fmic, intake slightly modified exaust ports. The dyno had my boost reading from the manifold but my boost controller takes its readings from the boost sensor-manifold 0.78 bar but my boost controller said 0.94bar does anyone know which would be accurate or should they be the same. Thanks guys,Royston uk.

I'm a noob, so i can't really comment, but here is what i got (for comparison purposes)

93 base - With stock twins and no porting, and 62k miles... - just downpipe, cat back exhaust, FMIC, power FC... and upgraded fuel pump... my car put out 300 rwhp at 12 psi (or maybe 13psi). Couldnt up the boost because i have stock injectors running near its peak.

good but I think I would probably get some more power by turning up the boost a little.

You guys, he ran that on a dyno dynamics. They read quite a bit lower than a dynojet.

Those are pretty good numbers Royston, but you may have a little room for improvement. What ecu ARE you using?

Do you have the stock ECU? What spec is your car? What type of dyno? Are you a member of FDUK?

The figures aren't that bad - as noted above, your running on a different dyno system. If you're using figures on here as a comparison, then you would be dissapointed

If your running a stock ecu, get ready for a rebuild bro. Get a standalone and see those figures go way up. and maybe you havnt damaged your engine to bad yet.

Hey mate,

You are beating me at the moment.. I got 242 RWHP when I went to G-Force. Want to push that to 300 RWHP once I get the IC, rad, induction, injectors and fuel pump on there next month :p

You need to post your mods up here so we can see them - even I'm not sure what your mod list is!

My mod list is with my dyno graphs on my website:
http://www.fd3s.org/

You gonna be down in town on Sat night? If my clutch is fixed on Saturday I'll head down there

Ive got a power fc ,sorry forgot to mention that.My mods are power fc,intake fmic,1200 sec, bosch 044 pump and fpr,dp,mp,blitz catback and minor exhaust porting,i couldnt get boost past 11 psi for some reason. My boost controller said i was at .95 bar but on the dyno print out i was only on .77 bar and 11-1 afr and 284 ftlb@ 5400 rpm.I tried increasing the duty cycle higher but it had no effect. And yes i am in FDUK.Thanks Roy.

Dyno Dynamics reads about 7-10% lower HP than a dynojet from what I have heard.

I agree. Royston, perhaps you have a SMALL boost leak. I can't see how you could only get 11 psi with a midpipe, regardless if the wastegate is wide open or not. I would remove all the couplers/IC tubing and check carefully for cracks or leaks.

300 @ 12 psi
315 @ 13psi
325 @ 14psi
340 @ 15psi.

for a stock port stock turbos all the bolton FD

do you have a mp? You didnt list it. so 300rwhp is great without it.

just been to dyno

When my car was on the dyno my boost controller was reading .95 bar(connected to boost sensor)but on the dyno graph my boost was a steady .77bar(taken from nipple on manifold) why is there such a difference and which would be the correct boost pressure reading.Had a look and i cant find any leaks.

There is no secret,Im only running base mod timing maps with 12 degree split in boost areas and pulled out a little timing at transition and after peak torque.Would any of the pfc forum maps be any better or is it not that simple. Thanks Roy.

not that simple. asking in the ECU section would get you tons of help, but the maps are just for ballparks. i have one in my car and it smells more like exxon in my car than at the gas station.
