Exclamation Jiggled some vacuum lines and now have lower Vacuum and boost?

Hey guys,

Was still having an issue where I wasn't always getting the secondary turbo to come online during 1st gear and was trying to figure it out. I checked a number of vacuum lines and the check valves, jiggled some around, and also checked the pressure/blowoff valves and tried to make sure everything was connected.

Now all of the sudden my vacuum at Idle dropped from 17+ all the time to about 14, and my boost will not go over 9-10 psi no matter what the PFC is set to, whereas before it was boosting to about 12 or so. The good news is, the secondary turbo seems to come online all the time now in 1st gear.... lol.

Anyone have any clue which line or spot might be the most likely culprit? Everything is smooth with the operation and idle but just lower vacuum and lower boost (and hence lower performance) all of the sudden after playing with those lines, so not thinking the engine suddenly decided to blow on me (car is at 65,700 original miles roughly). Everything visually looks ok.

Thoughts? Thanks!

Also another bit of info -- when I shut the engine off, after it completely stops I hear a brief high-pitched whoosh of air coming from somewhere. Possible indicator of the issue? Or is that normal?

All the solenoids in the "ratsnest" have plastic nipples that can get brittle over time. You could have broken one of these while "jiggling" vacuum hoses around.

It sounds like that^ or maybe one of the hoses got brittle/cracked just a little. I would check them all. Pull off the upper manifold and just all connections.
