i'm no genius painter or anything.. but i can give you a reccomendation for the dust, i dint' see it in your write up... BUT... when i painted my protege track car in my garage... of course i don't have exractors or perfect environment just as you.. i wet the floor, soaked it, gotta be carefuly not to bust your rear.. but the water on the floor help maintain just enough humidity to keep the dust on the ground.. AND excess over spray on the ground.. since overspray is so light and dust.. the air from the paint gun can actually make dust fly around. it really really helped me in the process and i had extremely minimal dust dots on my paint. just my .02 to hopefully help you out. not trying to tell you how to do your job at all. good work!!!! looks sweet! sorry for havint to do over

Yeah I wet the floor both times. The second time however I blew out the entire garage along with the lights. Seemed to help alot. The garage its all happening in is MUCH dirtier than my garage. I sprayed the doors, hatch, etc the second time in my garage and though there is some light dust in the parts it is much less on those parts than previously. I should have some update pics soon. We have been busting *** for the last few days trying to play catch up.
So far the chassis, hatch, headlight covers, fuel door, sunroof panel, and a few other misc items I cant think of right now have been sanded/buffed out and look pretty good I think. The chassis has started to be put back together. Taillights, seals, hatch, sunroof panel, and a bunch of smaller items have been installed already. As more parts get painted/sanded/buffed they are installed to save space. The plan is that we should get it done (minus 99 bumper - gotta make a phone call to Jason about that) by saturday night.

OK, so I forgot to take pics lol. The doors are sanded and buffed out and all pretty looking now. Ill have pics new pics up tomorrow I promise. I found a different buffing compound which really makes the paint shine so Jason should be very happy with the final product when he sees it soon.

So I forgot the camera AGAIN lol but I did snap a few craptastic pics with my phone. As you can see the car is coming back together nicely. All that is really needed now is the hood to be painted, along with the passenger mirror and the mirror pedestals. The spoiler gets sanded/buffed tomorrow and then the parts will be painted and let sit overnight. On Sunday the hood will be sanded/buffed and the car will come back to my garage.
I plan on doing a bit more sanding/buffing on the chassis as there are a few areas that I think can be better. I really want this car to turn out well as its my first "real professional bodywork job". Also obviously I want the customer to be happy as well. Anyways, on to the crappy pics.

Got some pics of some of the misc pieces. The spoiler sides needed repainted after I sanded a bit too much (oops). Hood got painted and looks pretty good as well as the wiper arms. I didnt think they looked the best and it wasnt much of a deal to scuff em up and spray em. They look much better now I think.

Update: Been working on buffing the car out more to really get it looking shiny. Havent done anything lately with the car as its been in the -F's the last few days with crazy wind chills. Not worth turning the heat on as it wont keep up with how cold it is outside. Once it warms up a bit I will finish the buffing and take more pics of it and then start putting it all together.

Got the car buffed out finally. As said before the weather has kinda slowed progress a bit. Heres a quick pic I snapped down the side. Also for some reason I was thinking I only needed 4 bolts for the mirrors instead of the 6 that are required. So, once I get to the store those along with different spoiler bolts will be bought. The ones I got were wrong - its a long story. Next update will have mirrors completely mounted along with the spoiler and door panels.

All that is left to do now is to install the wiper blades (forgot them at buddies house) and the infini emblems.
Close up of the sunroof:
I kept mentioning dirt in the paint. The next few pics are the best I could do to get shots of them to show up. they are the small dots right next to the reflection of the light.
Hope you like...
