Thumbs up It's getting there (a few rebuild pics)...

Well, my car has been down for 3 months getting a new engine. My mechanic (www.jprimports.com - an excellent mechanic) took a new reman and ported it with a nice large street port and added RA seals. All the parts has taken forever to get so the project has gone on much longer than expected . It should be pretty beautiful when it's done.
It's gonna have:

1) polished (or chromed) everything you can polish short of the rotor housings. UIM, LIM, TB, IC pipes, M2 large IC, power steering bracket, Front cover, fuel rail, power steering pulley (chromed), tension pulley (chromed), AST, turbo compressor housing, strut bar, aluminum ast, tial BOV (already polished) and alternator.

2) AP-88 turbo kit - this is almost done. A-spec has run into a few problems with this since the turbo no longer has the old specs that they designed the kit to. Now they need to re-fab the downpipe with 4" piping . Shooting for over 400 rwhp - we'll see.

3) KG parts full fuel kit.

4) SMB high flow cat (no airpump).

5) Gotham racing motor mounts.

7) A/C removed (never use it anyways).

8) Jacobs ignition.

9) All new pullies (rotary extreme) - nice 'almost polished' finish.

10) R1 dual oil coolers on my touring.

10) a bunch of other crap ...

Today the engine made it into the car . Just thought I'd share my excitment so here's a couple crappy pics.

Matt

Looks so nice and clean
I considered going to JPR but I went to KDR for work during the winter. I just didn't hear enough about JPR to trust them. Good to hear you are happy because I would take my car there if needed. It's just closer.
Post the finished results. I would really like to see that someday. Well done.

LOL... it started out with just a polished UIM, then everything looked so bland. It turned into an obsession real quick . Hopefully it will all come together real soon.

I've been with JPR for over 2 years now. JPR is 100 times better than KDR (I've been to both). Give Jim (Mechanic at JPR) a shot, you wont look back .

dayem...why not drop the motor in with all the fuel and accessories already bolted up? Much easier on the back assembling on a stand??!??

looks great!

If only it were that easy... I think there is a conspiracy against me on this car in terms of getting parts. I don't have the fuel system yet ... it is coming, though. So we figured we should throw in the engine and then as parts finally make it into my hands we can just bolt them up. This way when the parts come (turbo and fuel) the car can be ready in 3-4 hours as opposed to a couple of days.

Ha! It took 4.5 months to get to this point, that's the best the car has looked yet .
The pictures don't show everything. Right next to the car is everything else (IC, ignition, etc, UIM, etc...). That **** just needs to be bolted on .

At this point its really just a matter of getting a BOV welded and cutting and welding the compressor elbow to the turbo to fit it under the strut bar, then slapping everything together! I'll be stopping by there tonight, so we'll see. My mechanic says he's not taking it off the lift until he can drive it out of there. Since he only has one lift, that's a good thing .
