1/2 done by CantGoStraight (highly recommended) and 1/2 was done locally. Can't really speak to what method was used, I just pay people to do it for me .

Well, tonight we started her up . She fired up on the first try after sitting dead for almost 5 months . The engine didn't even have water in it yet! My mechanic just conneted the MAP sensor, poured some oil in and let her rip. The car must have only turned over three times and it just went and idled perfectly! The car should be done by next week, just have to get the BOV welded on and the turbo compressor pipe welded on.

A few more crappy (low res) pics - it's filthy, but you get the idea.

Stupid question though. My enigne is all ready assembled. Would it be hard to paint it or to polish it still? I just have to have the BLING BLING now. Assembled in the trems of it is still a short block.

Thanks Tyler... Glad to hear that everything is going smooth with your rebuild! Must be hard to take it easy and break her in.

Hey Matt. I'll PM you when I go down. Probably will be near the end of the week.

Well, it really comes down to how much time and money you want to spend. You're obviously gonna have to remove anything that you want painted or polished, and if you get it polished and have no experience doing it, you may have to pay a good amount to get eveything done.

Matt,
I can help this guy out if he wants to do the bling bling thing. I'm not sure how far he wants to go with the break down of the short block he's got put together but I have somethings ready to go and will have some others up pretty soon. Let me know and I can tell you what I have, and what I will have soon, and how much it will be. Jack

I just got back from driving the seven around the block... man it was nice, I haven't driven it for 5 months and 2 days (but who's counting ).

I'll officially get the car back tomorrow, once I get her cleaned up I'll toss a few more pics on here.

Car looks amazing, very nice work. I like the progress pictures. Hopefully I'll get the chance to check out the setup in person.

I have a couple of questions for you though.

1: What air filter is that, and where did you get it.

2: Where did you get the 90 degree elbow from as well. I may need a similar elbow for my turbo....haven't gotten that far yet haha

Thanks,
Dan

Thanks! The intake is pretty low and sits between the radiator and the fender wall. It seems that it will draw a fair amount of fresh air. Overall I'm not too big on CAI's. I switched from an apexi to a M2 box and noticed zero difference in my intake temps. Yep, it's a 95.

Thanks... The air filter and 90 degree elbow both came from A-spec with the kit. I'm sure you can contact them if you want to purchase them. I really don't know what type of filter it is, I'll have to look at it closer. It's pretty nice because it has sceen mesh up front and the cloth (K&N style) on the sides. I was going to use the 90 degree elbow, but we realized that we could make the M2 IC pipe work. We hacked up the elbow and welded the v-band flange to the M2 pipe. It was a perfect fit .
