It's been a while since I last posted here but....

So sadly I had to sell my FD a couple months ago. I needed somethign that had a trunk to lug around things and a back seat. I didn't want to lose the power that the FD had so I ended up picking up a 05 GTO. Great car, interior is so nice, ride is very comfortable, and power is out of this world. Anyways, I just finished installing my cam last night and I started her up and made a video. Really wasn't hard at all to do for going into the engine for the first time. Going to be getting it tuned tomorrow

Enjoy

My old baby:

The new one

I know it's probably something you already know and don't want to hear but that FD looks 10x better then that goat. What is the name of the color on that FD?

Yea it wasn't an option though, the GTO just offered better things for what I need at the time.

Also, the reason why I sold the 7 is because of the appearance. Too many jealous people around here and it stands out A LOT! It got keyed and I just didn't want to have to worry about it every single place I brought it.

The GTO was bought for the reason because it isn't a car that is going to stand out when it's parked somewhere and I won't have to worry. It blends in with the other cars (until you hear it) and it won't draw the attention of cops.

The GTO is a lot faster than my 7, but not nearly as fun in the turns. If I could I'd never want to sell my 7, but I had to at this time in my life. After I get out of college I will be looking to purchase another one for a weekend car.

i know how you feels. lolz. driving the Fd to school, 90% your car will get keyed. ( not only fd but any other cars that nice or new ) i believe you did the right thing but you should pick up another FD when you can cause i'm pretty sure you will miss the feeling and the sexy look of the FD.

or close to stock. big heavy wheels (vs the stock 16s) really slow a car down in the lower gears too.

i hate gto's but i dont think you jnow wat kind of power they have...

my friends dad has an 02 gto and it has 350hp w/ 350fpt. an 05 is prob much better then that considering they usually bump up hp and torque ever year of production. they are heavy but it makes for a good feel putting 330+hp to the road, with a stock car.

i thought there has to be at least one person to defend his decision, i knew he was goona get harassed

that must have been a pretty big cam in there to make it idol like that. that'll make it put out lots more power for it being n/a. was it just me, or did i hear it shut it self off like 3/4 of the way through?

i like the GTO. If I had the cash I probably would be daily driving one. oh well, you can't own them all.

Not a fan of the cam though. too much imo.

My FD had all bolt ons for the stock twins tuned @ 12psi, should have dyno'd around 320ish to the wheels.

There is not 02 GTO, GTO's were only made from 2004-2006. The 2004's have an LS1 stating 350hp while the 05 and 06 have the LS2 stating 400. To the wheels stock, LS1's are around 300ish and LS2's are around 320-330.

With just intake and ported throttle body the GTO was pushing 360/360 to the wheels.

Since then I've added LT headers/catless mids/cam and after my tune will be putting down around 420-430 to the wheels with around 390-400ft lbs of torque.

With upgraded heads and intake manifold, these cars are pushing 500+ to the wheels NA without touching the internals of the engine.

Slap on a super charger or APS twin turbo kit and there are cars running 600-700 to the wheels stock internals. Stroke the engine and you'll have cars pushing into the 800's

I get a lot more looks in the FD and it's definitely my favorite car, but again, I had to do this, my turbos were starting to go out, the car just got keyed, and it was the best thing to do at the time.

P.S. Yea the car stalled 3/4 into the video. It is a HUGE cam and it is untuned, that's what happens and that's why you have to get the car tuned ASAP which is what I'm doing tomorrow morning, I'll have numbers/dyno sheet if you guys would like me to update you guys.

Regardless of how it feels, your FD would have spanked that GTO. I beat an 05 GTO that had a couple of minor mods, and I only had about 290 at the wheels.

My friend has an 04 LS1 GTO with lt headers/high flow cats/blower cam/and a maggie supercharger and he is the fastest GTO in NorCal and the car is his daily driver! Stock internals/stock trans etc. Here's his numbers

Sears Point
JULY 22,2007
R/T=.298
60=1.618
1/8=6.969@102.08
1/4=10.851@127.50

He pulled the Maggie and has other plans now, going to do engine work and a huge turbo. He said he will be pushing 1050+ as a daily driver hah, guy is crazy.

^agreed i had my car in HS for 2 years and in college for 2 years and never have been keyed or had a door ding. Its all about where you park it and to NOT **** off other people. People usually get keyed because they have pissed someone off, i cant imagine some random person walking by and saying wow beautiful car i should key it.

Very true brian but you are forgetting about the people that do it out of jealousy.

After my friend got his M3, the second week someone keyed it at his job (hes a nurse so they park in private lots). I guess they found out he recently purchased it so maybe they got jealous and keyed it. Reason why this was confirmed as jealously is because a week after he got the scratched removed, the same scratch appeared on the other side. This was intentional.

I also know people that do the same thing too lol

And not only that, thieves do it as well. If they cant take the car, they destroy it before leaving it. They will flatten your tires, key up your rims, scratch all your body panels. ITs what they do.
